Ogie Diaz revealed that GMA Network, TV5, and Viva are eyeing to get the love team LizQuen to be a part of their shows. With the shutdown of the ABS-CBN network, Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil (LizQuen) are bound to get new opportunities from other networks since ABS-CBN has already released the contracts of their employees.
Ogie Diaz shared this revelation in his YouTube vlog that premiered on Saturday, August 15.
Ogie, along with his friend talked about several issues in showbiz, politics, and the latest discussions that are trending in social media platforms recently.
The talent manager mentioned that even though ABS-CBN artists were already given the okay to move on to other networks, he said that the Kapamilya network is still working on projects for LizQuen.
“Actually, ang LizQuen ay isa sa mga hindi binibitawan ng ABS-CBN. As per Tita Cory Vidanes, nung nakausap ko, gumagawa naman daw sila ng paraan kung paano maitatawid ‘yung mga love teams na pinoprotektahan nila at sinesecure talaga nila,” Ogie said.
He said that ABS-CBN is also trying to hold on to another one of their prominent loveteam which is the KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla).
“Alam naman natin ang KathNiel, nandiyan iyan. Ang LizQuen andyan din,” he said.
He said that ABS-CBN has already made plans for LizQuen through a movie with Star Cinema. The love team is excited about the film but they want to make sure that they will be safe from the coronavirus first before they start filming.
“One time last week, merong pinitch sa aming movie si Inang Olive (Lamasan) sa Star Cinema. Excited ‘yung dalawa na gawin ‘yung movie provided kailangan mag-flatten ‘yung curve ng pandemya,” Ogie said.
Ogie mentioned that having several offers from other networks is not a bad thing for LizQuen. Instead, he said that it may even turn out to be a good problem for the real-life couple.
“GMA expressed their interest. TV5 also at tsaka ‘yung Viva. Nagbigay sila ng kanilang interes in LizQuen. This is a good problem for us pero siyempre priority muna namin ang ABS-CBN,” he said.
He explained that LizQuen will only allow the thought of accepting offers from other networks when their home network ABS-CBN will have no more projects for them.
“This is a good problem for us,” he said.
“Pero siyempre, priority namin muna ABS-CBN. ‘Pag wala talagang maibigay na ang ABS-CBN at in-allow naman silang lumipad sa ibang bakuran, doon pa lang kami magko-consider. Pero at least napakagandang problema nito para sa amin. Actually hindi ito problema. Isang ano lang ito, isipin,” he added.
LizQuen’s last project with ABS-CBN was ‘Make It With You’ but the series got canceled due to the network’s denied franchise and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ogie confirmed the cancellation of the series through his Facebook post.
But Ogie mentioned that LizQuen still didn’t make plans on continuing with their jobs. He said that as much as possible, they wanted to make sure that the rising cases of COVID-19 patients will settle down before they start to work again.
“Hindi lang sila ‘yung may ganyang decision ngayon. Madaming artistang ayaw munang magtrabaho hangga’t hindi nagfla-flatten ang curve,” he said.
Aside from LizQuen, Ogie also talked about BL (boys love), GL (girls love), and hopes of having collabs with JaMill and Ivana Alawi.
He also talked about how he stood up for actress Angel Locsin when an attorney named Ferdinand Topacio made an insulting comment to the actress.
“‘Yung show ni Angel sa GMA7 ay pinamagatang LOBO, kaya LUMOBO sya!” the attorney said.
Ogie defended Angel by hinting that Topacio was displaying an act of misconduct. He pointed out the irony of the attorney being a part IBP (Integrated Bar of the Philippines) which is a national organization that was supposed to be promoting ethical practices among lawyers.
Ogie Diaz is a comedian, writer, and talent manager. He rose to fame by being a part of the long-running TV sitcom Palibhasa Lalake which ran from 1987 to 1998.
He is currently the manager of Liza Soberano and he once became the manager of Vice Ganda for four years.
Recently, he confirmed that he was hired by Raffy Tulfo as his new manager because Tulfo needed someone reliable to handle endorsements and projects offered to him.
