Kapamilya star Enchong Dee posted an angry message for the government, calling them out for refusing to listen to the cries of the Filipino people.
“The dissent & outrage of the Filipino people will continue to grow towards this arrogant & (lack of a better term) Stupid administration, simple…hindi nyo pinakikinggan kaming mga Pilipino na ninanakawan nyo ng progresibo, matiwasay, at ligtas na kinabukasan,” he wrote.
“Ang yabang nyo!” he added.
He called the government arrogant and stupid because he said that they continue to ignore the call of the Filipino people, especially health workers who are greatly suffering and struggling in order to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He stressed that the government doesn’t listen to the people whom Enchong claim they steal from. He wanted to point out that all the government cares about is how they can further expand their businesses and make more money rather than being in service of the Filipino.
Recently, health workers asked the government to place Metro Manila back under stricter lockdown measures to arrest a spike in COVID-19 cases.
The health professionals asked to put Metro Manila back under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) for the next two weeks, which will be used as a “timeout” to refine the government’s pandemic control strategies. They warned that the country’s health care system is already on the brink of collapse.
Sen. Cynthia Villar released a statement saying that she was not in favor of the frontliner’s plea.
The Senator explained that the economy could not be shut down because it can greatly affect the businesses in society. She mentioned that they should just do their jobs properly.
Enchong posted his reaction with regard to the statement of the senator and said that Villar was being insensitive with her words. The actor hinted that Villar doesn’t care for the welfare of the people and that she lacks sympathy.

However, President Rodrigo Duterte has already ordered a reimposition of a strict quarantine in the country’s National Capital Region (NCR) and surrounding provinces.
Malacanang spokesperson Harry Roque announced on Saturday that the president had “heard the concerns of the medical community and the chief executive has directed the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to act on these concerns immediately.”
More and more people are beginning to voice out their concerns with the inadequate response of the government to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a recent survey, results showed that citizens all around the globe are losing faith in their respective governments for the handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
There has now been an average amount of 280,000 new cases globally two days in a row.
In the Philippines, the national government was called out for issues regarding COVID-19 such as the late closing of borders.
While Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Hong Kong took the early initiative on travel restrictions, the Philippines was noticeably late to follow suit. Duterte initially ordered a travel ban only for those from Wuhan, China after three Chinese nationals tested positive in the country.
The ban was later expanded to the entirety of China but it was delayed as the Department of Health chief Francisco Duque stated that it might damage the Philippines relations with the former.
People also began asking the government for any aid with providing supplies such as face masks. Then Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo clarified that the government wouldn’t be distributing masks as it had none to give out.
However, people pointed out that a few days prior to the statement, the government was sending aid to China which included a donation of boxes and boxes of masks worth USD1.4 Million.
Enchong Dee and other Filipino celebrities have also displayed their disapproval with the government as they came together virtually to deliver an “alternative” State of the Nation Address dubbed #SONAgKAISA streamed live at the same time as that of Duterte’s SONA.
The online concert addressed issues like the forced shutdown of ABS-CBN, the anti-terror law, and the Duterte administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. One of its highlights was the video of “Di Niyo Ba Naririnig,” the Filipino version of the memorable Les Miserables tune “Do You Hear the People Sing.”
Aside from Enchong, dozens who appeared in the virtual chorus singing “Di Niyo Ba Naririnig” were Angel Locsin, Iza Calzado, Jodi Sta. Maria, and ABS-CBN artists whose home network has been forced to retrench thousands of workers after it was shuttered by Duterte allies in Congress.
Enchong Dee first came to prominence after starring in his first major TV drama Katorse (2009). He starred in the drama television series The Blood Sisters (2018) and recently starred in the romantic-comedy film Elise.
