“Welcoming movie & TV producer, entrepreneur, @neil_arce to the CoStar Talents family! Thank you for the trust, Neil, and we’re excited for what’s in store!” they wrote.
Neil Arce is a one-time poker champion who joined many Asian Poker Tour Championships tournaments. He is a movie producer whose work includes for 10,000 Hours (2013), I’m Ellenya L. (2019), and Luck at First Sight (2017).
Arce and Locsin got engaged in 2019.
Locsin was a contract artist of GMA Network up to early 2007 until she transferred to rival network, ABS-CBN. While at the Kapuso network and in her early on in her career at ABS-CBN, she worked under talent-manager Becky Aguila. Locsin later confirmed that she was no longer under Becky Aguila’s management and that they parted amicably.
Initially, some thought that Angel would join Viva Artist Agency, given Becky’s decision to sign a co-management deal with the said group in overseeing the careers of Jennylyn Mercado and Valerie Concepcion. Talent manager-host Boy Abunda was also mentioned as a possible candidate to assume Becky’s role.
Angel’s new manager, however, turned out to be veteran entertainment columnist Ethel Ramos, who is also widely known in the showbiz circuit as the manager of Aga Muhlach.
Aguila said that the decision to go on their separate ways was mutual. However, the sudden shift in network alliance earned both Angel and Becky a lot of harsh criticism.
“Nag-usap kami nang maayos ni Angel. Napagkasunduan naming dalawa ang maghiwalay. Mutual decision,” Beck said.
“Magkasama kami sa hirap at ginhawa for eight years. Marami kaming pagsubok na dinaanan. May hangganan ang lahat. Nothing permanent except change. Basta ang imporante ay nagkahiwalay kami nang maayos,” she added.
According to Becky, she and Angel have contrasting visions on the actress’s career path: “Marami na kaming di napagkakasunduan. May sarili nang ideas at konsepto si Angel na naiintindihan ko naman because she’s young… Life goes on.”
Becky was even confident that Angel will be in “good hands” with Ethel as her manager.
Angel currently hosts the public service program Iba Yan! (2020) which is directed by her fiancé Neil. The show airs online on the Kapamilya Channel of ABS-CBN.
