Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and actor Robin Padilla slammed each other on social media in their separate posts regarding each other’s opinion about the government’s response to the pandemic and their conflicting views about the current administration.
Trillanes reacted to Robin’s statement in which the actor said that, “Kayat imbes na mabuhay at magising ka araw araw sa pagrereklamo at kakabatikos ABAY kumilos ka para makatulong at mapakinabangan una ng sarili mo, mga pamilya mo at ng Inangbayan.”
In his Twitter post, the former senator showed his dismay over Robin who insisted that the people should just stop voicing out their concerns on the government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Trillanes said that the Philippines has the highest number of people who tested positive for the virus because President Rodrigo Duterte doesn’t know what he is doing.

Trillanes noted that Robin was one of the people responsible for putting Duterte in his position that’s why the country is suffering so much. He claimed that all Duterte did for the Philippines was bring harm to it.
Action star Robin Padilla did not let Trillanes’ statement past him as he responded through a lengthy post on his Instagram.

The actor asked Trillanes to not include him in his battle in politics as Robin said that he is not a politician. He said that will not run for a position in the 2022 elections, unlike Trillanes.
“I call myself revolutionary because I do not join governments I fight governments and that is what president duterte and this government is doing fighting the system of government and its oligarchs that was founded by the Magdalos of Emilio Aguinaldo.
“Talagang outside the normal ang ginagawa ni PRRD dahil talagang kumakasa siya sa lahat ng pinaglilingkuran mo. Hindi ka lang napagbigyan ni mayor prrd na maging vice president candidate niya nag huramentado kana at parang kang bata na nagngangangawa. Trillanes is known for his criticism of Duterte and his administration. He openly slams the president through his Twitter account and encourages people to not be afraid to speak up.
It's really more patriotic if your rants against duterte would actually mention his name.

As to the expected troll attacks, their objective is to bully you into silence. Just block and ban them. You don't need to deal with them. Either bayad sila or sarado na utak nila, kung meron man.

He also said that Duterte is not thinking straight. He also told people to stop believing in the president’s lies.

On the other hand, Robin is known for being a vocal supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte. In his recent posts, he defended the Duterte administration saying that many Filipinos still cannot understand the present situation and are apparently politicizing the pandemic.
The actor weighed in on the division of Filipinos during this health crisis, claiming that many still do not “accept” the “war” against COVID-19.

Robin also shared his approval regarding Duterte’s plans on implementing the Anti-Terrorism Bill in the country.
He recently posted his reaction on the massive explosion in Lebanon’s capital, Beirut in which he claimed was an act of terrorism.
He compared the tragic event with the acts of terrorism in the Philippines saying that the Beirut explosion is one of the best reasons to implement Anti-Terrorism Law.

This is not the first time that Padilla and Trillanes criticized each other on social media.
In 2018, in the immediate aftermath of President Rodrigo Duterte’s voiding of Trillanes’ amnesty, Padilla, a staunch Duterte supporter, made a scene.
Robin dared Trillanes to come out of the Senate building and be man enough to face in court the charges against him.
“Labas na diyan pare, wag kang mag tago sa saya ng Senado!” Padilla said in his live video.
The senator only shrugged off Padilla’s cinematic rants, saying that the actor was acting “like a kid.”
Antonio Trillanes IV is a retired Navy officer who served as a Senator of the Philippines. He was a vice presidential candidate in the 2016 Philippine presidential elections.
Trillanes was known for leading the 2003 Oakwood Mutiny when he and 321 junior officers and enlisted men of the Armed Forces of the Philippines who called themselves “Bagong Katipuneros” took over the Oakwood Premier Ayala Center (now Ascott Makati) serviced apartment tower in Makati City as a protest for alleged rampant corruption of the Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo administration. He was detained for almost seven and a half years.
Robin Padilla is known as the “Bad Boy” of Philippine cinema for portraying antiheroic protagonist gangster roles in his films Anak ni Baby Ama, Grease Gun Gang, Bad Boy 1, and Bad Boy 2, to name some. He is dubbed as “The Action Prince” or “The Prince of the Philippine Action Movies”.
He starred in the film Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo portraying the life of “Father of the Philippine Revolution” Andres Bonifacio who is often called “The Father of the Philippine Revolution” who founded and later became Supremo (Supreme Leader) of the Kataas-taasang, Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan or more commonly known as the “Katipunan”, a movement which sought the independence of the Philippines from Spanish colonial rule and started the Philippine Revolution.
Padilla was convicted for illegal possession of firearms in 1994. Police caught him with unlicensed revolvers and an M-16 baby Armalite rifle after he fled from a hit-and-run accident involving a balut vendor.
Padilla and Trillanes have been freed from the previous charges leveled against them: the actor via a presidential pardon, and the former soldier through amnesty.
