GMA Network executive Annette Gozon-Valdes has seemingly put an end to speculations about popstar princess Sarah Geronimo’s alleged transfer to the Kapuso network.
In a statement, Gozon-Valdes said while it’s not true that the pop star princess is GMA Network-bound, she hoped that it can happen in the future.
“Hindi yata, But who wouldn’t want to have Sarah, right? Hehe. Sana, in the future”.
Rumors about Sarah G.’s transfer started with the non-renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise.
After the Congress’ denial of the ABS-CBN franchise on July 10, the network decided to suspend the contract of its artists giving them free hand to find another job or transfer to other networks.
The rumors were furthered fueled when a PEP article mentioned that Sarah was supposedly spotted at GMA Network’s premises to meet with the GMA bosses.
Viva, Geronimo’s talent management team, meanwhile has also refuted the rumors saying the popstar royalty will remain a Kapamilya.
Sarah started her career after winning IBC13’s Star for a Night. During her younger years, Sarah also made few appearances on ABS-CBN’s youth-oriented show Ang TV and RPN9’s variety show Penpen de Sarapen. Sarah had a short stint on GMA before transferring to ABS-CBN.
Sarah joined the Kapamilya network in 2004. Her first project with ABS-CBN was the pre-primetime teleserye Sarah the Teen Princess. She then became a regular host and performer on ASAP which gave her the big break and made her the big star she is now.
Currently, Sarah is still seen in ASAP Natin ‘To and The Voice Teens as one of the mentor judges.
