After the SONA, celebrities Chynna Ortaleza, Francine Prieto, and Jennylyn Mercado asked about the government’s next step for the country’s battle against COVID-19.
Francine expressed jealousy that other countries are slowly going back to normal and recovering from the pandemic. She also pointed out that the Philippines’ lockdown is one of the longest-lasting in the world yet the end is not yet in sight.

“Nakakainggit yung ibang bansa, back to normal na sila. Tayo ang may pinakamahabang community quarantine pero parang nasa step 1 palang tayo, di umuusad.”
[I feel jealous of other countries, they are already going back to normal. We have the longest community quarantine but it seems like we are still on the first step, not improving]
Chynna Ortaleza and Jennylyn Mercado also questioned the government’s next plan to mitigate the pandemic.
So after today.. May plano na po?

During the recently concluded State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte, he had mentioned his plans for OFWs, education amidst the new normal, the situation in the West Philippine Sea, and his proposed death penalty through lethal injection. However, the COVID-19 recovery plan, which was awaited by many people, was not mentioned by Duterte.
Currently, the country already has more than 80,000 cases in the country. We also rank second among other Southeast Asian countries with the most number of COVID-19 cases.
While other countries are going back to normal because of the effectiveness of their response, it seems that our only hope is the COVID-19 vaccine that is being studied and formulated by different laboratories around the world.
What if the vaccine wouldn’t be invented soon? Will that mean longer suffering for us Filipinos?
