With all that has happened lately to the personal and professional life of TV host-comedian Vice Ganda, he was initially worried about how he was going to deliver his jokes when he faced the cameras again for It’s Showtime after the lockdown.
Vice disclosed how what has happened is affecting him as a performer.
“The things that happened in my life, ang laki ng effect sa akin as a performer, nalungkot ako, na-depress ako, nag worry ako, natakot ako, na-stress ako. Ang laki ng effect sa work ko. Hindi ko mabigay ang full potential ko.”
Making people laugh and happy is Vice Ganda’s trademark but with what is happening, the comedian admits he’s really having a hard time.
“When we started airing again, I asked for their help to reset. I told them, ‘Mag-focus tayo sa kung anong dahilan bakit tayo nandito. Isigaw natin. We have to be aware about our purpose—to make people happy.”
He then stressed that he entrusted everything to God for what is happening and he will continue to serve his purpose as an entertainer to the Filipino people.
I acknowledge my weakness right now and the things I cannot do. I lift everything to the Lord. I don’t want to stress myself about the things I don’t know.
At present, Vice is far too grateful to everyone who makes him happy.
“Right now, the thing that will make me happy the most is peace,” he stressed. “With everything happening around us, when we feel peace, that will not make us worry. That will make us really happy.”
Recently, a grateful Vice Ganda addressed the media at a virtual conference days before the launch of his much-talked-about digital network, viceganda.com.ph, which is backed by his management and marketing team at Viva Entertainment.
He even received the blessings of ABS-CBN Executives Carlo Katigbak and Cory Vidanes, “Sabi nila gumawa kayo ng paraan para maka-reach out sa publiko. This is the challenge and as artists we have to serve our purpose na pasayahin pa ang tao.”
Especially that the aim of his website to help ABS-CBN employees who will be retrenched soon, “Una naming gustong i-accommodate ‘yung mga nawalan ng trabaho sa ABS-CBN — mga writers, graphic artists and other talents, especially ‘yung mga nakatrabaho ko na noon pa.”
