A grateful Vice Ganda faced the media Monday at a virtual conference days before the launch of his much talked-about digital network, viceganda.com.ph, which is backed by his management and marketing team at Viva Entertainment.
He has already dominated television, movies, and even the world of cosmetics. Now, Vice Ganda is set to follow the example of media mogul Oprah Winfrey by opening up his own network.
“Hiningi ko ito ng basbas sa ABS-CBN kaya nagpapasalamat ako, pati sa mga endorsers ko,” he told ABS-CBN News and other news outlets including LionhearTVduring their digital press launch on Zoom.
“I am so blessed that I was given the opportunity to work with the best people at ABS-CBN and Viva who shared their wisdom with me. Napapaligiran ako ng magagaling na tao.”
Vice also cited ABS-CBN bosses Carlo Katigbak and Cory Vidanes, among others, who challenged him and other artists to go digital.
“Sabi nila gumawa kayo ng paraan para maka-reach out sa publiko. ‘Di kayo pwedeng mawala sa kamalayan ng audience. Ang dami pang pwedeng gawin sa digital. This is the challenge and as artists we have to serve our purpose na pasayahin pa ang tao.”
On Instagram, Vice gave a peek of his project to his followers.
“Alam kong bet mo ng GV!!! Kaya wag ka ng magpatumpik tumpik pa magregister ka na. Daliiiiiii!!!!”
At one point, Vice expressed the agony of recent events at ABS-CBN. At the same time, the comedian also hoped to provide jobs for displaced workers.
“Ang hirap, everyday there’s a new heartache. Ang dami talagang challenges, pero kailangang kumapit. Life is is so precious, ‘di pwedeng bumitaw! Una naming gustong i-accommodate ‘yung mga nawalan ng trabaho sa ABS-CBN — mga writers, graphic artists and other talents, especially ‘yung mga nakatrabaho ko na noon pa,.”
Netizens and fans supported the comedian’s launch of the digital network, especially its aim to help the employees that will be retrenched.
2 important points about the VG Network:
1. Vice was challenged by CLK & Cory Vidanes to go digital & reach out to the public, hence having their blessing & is NOT a sign of betraying his home network.
2. The main goal: to help those who lost their jobs & to make ppl happy.
