After Governor Jonvic Remulla’s open letter published on social media for his elder brother, Cavite 7th District Representative Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla finally expressed his response via an open letter as well.
On the Facebook Page ‘Boying Remulla’, he said that he read his brother’s letter carefully and felt his brother’s concern for him.
“I read your letter intently and I am grateful for your concern. You used the term respect and until now, I cannot get over my mistake of writing a note while the National Anthem was playing. I have apologized and continue to apologize for my mistake. I am only human. I am sorry.”

He then started mentioning ABS-CBN which a friend of his described as a ‘monstrosity’,
“A very good and respected friend warned me about the MONSTROSITY called ABS-CBN. He told me that ABS-CBN is like a God, with tons of money and other resources at their disposal, to be used to crush anybody who would stand in their way, like the tragic figure called ERAP that the masses elected in 1998.”
He then claimed that the network has brainwashed the Filipino people for the past 33 years,
“For the past 33 years, since the passage of the 1987 Constitution, ABS-CBN has implanted into the public psyche the abuse, corruption, and stupidity of Congress and government officials and workers. They have brainwashed our people that there is no honor. In public service and never allowed anybody to answer back in the same forum. Or the same television programs.”
The lawmaker went so far as to claim that the network hired trolls to assassinate his character online.
“They have repeatedly lied to Congress, and in doing so, Have shown a very low regard for the Filipino. And they have used social media to [assassinate] my character, employing millions of trolls in the process.”
He then thanked his brother for the latter’s concern.
“Thank you for your concern. And I remember our father who served the Province of Cavite and the Filipino People wholeheartedly and endured the hard road of public service.”
In addition to thanking his younger brother, he praised the governor’s good conduct with handling the Province of Cavite.
“Continue your good work as governor. You are doing a great job as Governor. Allow me to finish what I started. And maybe, wish me well in the process.”
Netizens had mixed reactions to the open letter but most were disappointed, asking the lawmaker why he needs to drag ABS CBN into his recent act of disrespecting the national anthem.
The congressman was heavily criticized for his manner of speaking to invited ABS-CBN resource persons and for disrespecting the National Anthem by writing notes while it was playing.
Even his younger brother pointed this out.
“That wasn’t you. We have attended countless flag ceremonies together in the Capitol. We are always on time. We have always treated the people with respect. We have always stood and held our hands to our chest. That wasn’t you on the Batasan floor. You were never like that.”
He reminded his brother that their government positions are not theirs and are just temporary,
“However, the issue is not about you and me. Our work is far too important than that. As you always said: ‘We are just stewards of the position. We do not own it.”’
