Kapuso artist Sunshine Dizon clapped back at her bashers who have been attacking her on social media over her statement against the government and in defense of ABS-CBN.
Dizon’s statement was about her frustrations over the government and about how she feels that it is time for her to speak up against the administration’s shortcomings which she recognizes has caused people to suffer.
Some netizens agreed with Dizon’s words and even supported the artist. Some were also displeased with what Dizon said and decided to comment negative things about her.
An Instagram user called Dizon a “gonggong” and said that she should first know the law before criticizing the government. The netizen said that “kahit mag rally kapa araw2x mag express na ayaw mo sa govt.
Dizon responded by thanking the netizen for stating a valid point pertaining to the rally not being a terrorist act.
“thank you for stating a valid point,” she said.
She also responded to a netizen who said that she is someone who claimed to be all-knowing and someone who knows how to read but don’t know how to comprehend. Dizon threw the statement back to the netizen and said that he is also someone who tries to be all-knowing but in fact, knows nothing.
At talagang marami ding MGA KATULAD mo,” she said.
The Kapuso actress replied to a netizen who said that she was only brave with her criticism because she did not grow up with a fear of communists.
“basa po ng maigi AGAIN i never said na hindi ako pabor sa batas na poporotecta saatin laban sa terrorismo. HINDI AKO PABOR NA HINDI ITO MALINAW. In short I don’t trust the hands of the people seated in power because it is prone to abuse,” Dizon wrote.
Dizon thanked the netizens who were threatening to unfollow her in her social media accounts because she’s glad that the ‘toxic people’ will be gone from her accounts. That’s why when a netizen said that she’s shallow minded and that he will unfollow Dizon, the actress expressed her gratitude.
“thank you very much. I do not need your kind of opinion its also shallow. And next time use your own photo do not hide it makes you a coward. Go with the likes of you,” she said.
Dizon mocked the Instagram user of being a coward as he was not showing his face in his profile.
The negative comments about her came after she posted about how she has had enough of remaining silent regarding the issues of the government. She took to social media to make her own State of the Nation Address (SONA) on the day President Rodrigo Duterte delivered his fifth one at the Batasang Pambansa Monday.
Through a lengthy post on her social media platforms, she aired her thoughts about the priorities of the government at a time when the Philippine is suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dizon said that she was not afraid of losing friends after airing her thoughts because that just proves that they were not her real friends at all. She added that it is not right to suppress anyone’s voice even if it is to criticize wrongdoing.
Dizon lamented the government’s poor response in handling the pandemic and how the government prioritizes other matters despite the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
She then urged everyone not to be blinded anymore and to start fighting for human rights.
Sunshine Dizon starred in Kung Kasalanan Man (1989), Hindi Pa Tapos Ang Laban, and Kahit Butas ng Karayom Papasukin Ko where she got her first acting recognition as Best Child Actress from FAMAS.
She played Sang’gre Pirena in Encantadia for which she won two Best Actress Awards from ENPRESS and Gawad Amerika. In 2016, Dizon joined in the retelling-sequel of Encantadia in which she plays Adhara which is a different role than what she portrayed in the first one.
But in the middle of the series, she left the production to be a part of the show Ika-6 na Utos where she played the role Emma de Jesus, her most personal role.
