On his Instagram, Robin Padilla expressed his satisfaction with Joyce Bernal’s direction of the 5th State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte on July 27.
He congratulated Bernal for producing ‘perfect’ camera work and a great prelude that was filmed in the Cordillera.
He also expressed his gratitude to the director and said that she contributed well to the country’s revolution.
Robin is known to be an avid supporter of Duterte, he even campaigned for the latter for ‘free’ during the 2016 presidential elections. He was also granted ‘absolute pardon’ by Duterte, giving him full political and civil rights.
He has never shown support for ABS-CBN since the issue of its franchise renewal started. Moreover, he accused the network of unfair labor practices and other violations that he said justifies the closure of ABS-CBN.
It can also be recalled that during the first few minutes of SONA, Duterte already slammed the Lopezes and the ABS-CBN network. In spite of this, Robin seemed to be uncaring of the fate of the network and its employees.
Robin is the host of Kaagapay sa Hanapbuhay, a new show on NET 25 that will air every weekend.
Meanwhile, netizens who expected a ‘new flavor’ of SONA that was directed by Joyce Bernal, were disappointed due to a lackluster SONA coverage. The promise to deliver a “Pinoy na Pinoy” SONA fell short and flopped.
This direction of the SONA 2020 by Bernal started to be controversial after Sagada Municipality rejected their request to shoot in the province earlier this month due to the existing COVID-19 protocols and regulations.
