Sagip party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta, one of the staunchest critics of ABS-CBN answered a personal message that he and his wife had received from ABS-CBN stars Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, who appealed to him to rethink their opposition to the network.
In a video posted on Facebook by Ogie Diaz, Soberano and Gil said they appreciate that Marcoleta and his wife are fans of their ABS-CBN series, Make It With You.
The two Kapamilya stars took the opportunity to ask Marcoleta, who is against the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise, to give their home network another chance.
“Baka sakaling mabigyan niyo po ng chance ang ABS-CBN at sa mga congressmen maraming maraming salamat din po sa inyo.”

During his summation speech, Marcoleta then addressed the real-life couple and thanked them for the greetings.
“Gusto ko pong pasalamatan, bago ako magtapos, si Enrique Gil at Liza Soberano, sa pagbati at pamamanhik na ipinaabot nila sa aming mag-asawa,” Marcoleta said.
During the 12th hearing regarding ABS-CBN’s pending franchise renewal, Deputy Speaker Rodate Marcoleta revealed that his wife is actually a fan of LizQuen.
“Ang asawa ko po ay talagang avid fan, kaya ko po napapanood yun.”
He even said that his wife is also a regular viewer of LizQuen’s now-defunct series Make It With You, which he watches with her.
“Ayaw po kasi ng asawa kong nanonood siyang wala siyang kasama. So kahit na po ako’y basa nang basa sa maraming papeles, kailangan ko pong pumanik para panoorin iyon.”
Theodore Boborol, who is the director of the said teleserye, reacted that if only Congress weren’t so eager to stop the ABS-CBN franchise, Marcoleta ‘s wife might still be able to watch the show.

Fans have responded to Marcoleta ‘s unexpected revelation.
Someone even joked that maybe the reason the lawmaker wants the network to shut down is that he wasn’t satisfied with his last episode.

On June 10 (Friday), ABS-CBN’s bid to renew their franchise was rejected by the House of Representatives Committee on Legislative Franchises after 13 hearings. Marcoleta still voted against ABS-CBN franchise renewal.
