The House of Representatives has been at the receiving end of criticisms from netizens after they invited former showbiz radio anchor Jobert Sucaldito to speak about ABS-CBN’s labor issues.
On Monday, June 29, Jobert was one of the resource speakers who shared their experience and take on ABS-CBN’s labor cases.
During the hearing, Jobert narrated how DZMM according to him illegally dismissed him from his post.
Sucaldito said it was unfair for the company to let go of his more than 17 years of service without proper process.
However, netizens called out the Congress for letting Sucaldito appear at the hearing because he wasn’t dismissed for anything but for violating the network’s ethical standards.
JOBERT SUCALDITO as witness? Sure Congress –how low can you get. https://t.co/K349xjsrCY

Tandaan natin na sinabi ni Jobert Sucaldito na tumalon na lang sa building si Nadine, dinamay pa ang kapatid niya. Tama lang na sinuspindi siya. Ingrata!

Does Jobert Sucaldito even have the slightest moral ascendancy to call ABS-CBN cruel and heartless for his suspension when he himself told Nadine Lustre on air to jump off a building? Nope.

Earlier this year, DZMM suspended Sucaldito after his controversial remark against Kapamilya actress Nadine Lustre.
In his program in DZMM, Sucaldito slammed Nadine after the actress blasted entertainment columnist Ricky Lo.
In his statement, Sucaldito said it might be good if Nadine really jumped off the building if that’s what she really wanted.
His statement sparked outrage from netizens and fans of Nadine which caught the attention of DZMM management.
And after getting both sides of the story, DZMM decided to suspend Jobert’s contract pending further investigation.
Jobert, however, did not accept the ruling and instead went to Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, a known ABS-CBN critic and DDS supporter and filed case at the DOLE.
Meanwhile, here are other reactions from the netizens with regards to Jobert’s appearance in Congress.

Congress says that they only want facts. And yet, they invite Jobert Sucaldito as a resource person, a person whose career has always focused on sensationalizing rumor and hearsay. So, do you think, majority of Congress still has integrity? #IbalikAngABSCBN

Why is Jobert Sucaldito's issue with ABS in congress? Heller?! He was dismissed because of his statement pushing Nadine to commit suicide! It is never okay to ask someone to commit suicide so bakit sya putak ng putak?! #NoToABSCBNShutDown
