Veteran singer Leah Navarro did not like the news that Vice Ganda will have his own digital network.
Navarro feels that amid the potential issues of Vice’s home network, ABS-CBN, after Congress denied the network’s franchise renewal on July 10, 2020, the comedian still had the audacity to launch his own digital network.
On her Twitter account, Navarro criticized Vice for allegedly abandoning ABS-CBN. The veteran singer even accused the comedian of only making the network his a “cash cow.”
“No wonder she seemingly ignored the shutdown. To Vice Ganda, ABS-CBN was a cash cow, and once slaughtered by Congress, it was easy to abandon and go her own way. She was never really a #KapamilyaForever.”

But fans were quick to defend the comedian against the negative comment of the veteran singer.
They pointed out that Vice also spoke in defense of ABS-CBN in the context of the renewal of the franchise, o the point that he even joined the rally and most importantly Vice’s digital network is a job opportunity for retrenched employees of ABS CBN.
No may pahintulot po ito ng abs cbn at nag usap sila at suportado po ito. Vice is still a kapamilya

Hello po! I just want to share na nagsalita po siya sa twitter regarding sa shutdown and sumama po siya sa rally nung July 10. And regarding po dito, may basbas din po ng ABS-CBN bosses and the network aims to provide jobs sa mga kasama nila sa ABS-CBN ☺️ pic.twitter.com/IwIyD1bgXp

Vice Ganda got the blessing from ABS-CBN executives on his digital network before he announced it. Vice even cited ABS-CBN bosses Carlo Katigbak and Cory Vidanes, among others, who challenged him and other artists to go digital.
“Sabi nila gumawa kayo ng paraan para maka-reach out sa publiko. ‘Di kayo pwedeng mawala sa kamalayan ng audience. Ang dami pang pwedeng gawin sa digital. This is the challenge and as artists we have to serve our purpose na pasayahin pa ang tao.”
The comedian also revealed that he hopes to build opportunities for the employees that will be affected by the retrenchment program.
“Una naming gustong i-accommodate ‘yung mga nawalan ng trabaho sa ABS-CBN — mga writers, graphic artists and other talents, especially ‘yung mga nakatrabaho ko na noon pa.”
The launch of the Vice Ganda Network ended up ‘crash landing’ due to the large number of people wanting to access the said site.
On his Twitter account, the comedian announced that the website wasn’t able to handle the number of visitors, which made him decide to postpone the said launch.
Di kineri ng website ang powers nyo! Ayun nagCrash Landing on You ang site ni betle!!! Sorry we decided to cancel and reschedule the #TheViceGandaNetworkLaunch . pic.twitter.com/KPLHjlMaZv

On his Facebook page, he also posted a statement apologizing for the problem. We can then consider that despite Vice Ganda Network has crashed, it was still a success because this shows the numerous supporters that the comedian has.
