The shutdown of ABS-CBN resulted in thousands of jobless employees amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Some ABS-CBN artists took to social media to express how brokenhearted they were due to the disapproval of the network’s franchise.
Chinita Princess Kim Chiu voiced out her dismay. “Matinding Yakap mga kapamilya! tinanggalan na nila tayo ng pag asa.”

Kim also believed that ABS-CBN doesn’t have any violations and the network even promised to improve but still, Congress denied the franchise.

In his tweet, Villegas couldn’t believe that there were 70 congressmen who voted not to renew the franchise and said “70-11. We will never forget.”.Then, he also thanked the 11 congressmen who were in favor to renew the franchise.

For the final hearing, Congress was ordered to vote either “Yes” to the ABS-CBN franchise renewal denial or a “No”. They voted 70 “YES”, 11 “No”, two were inhibited, and 1 abstained.
