Actress Kim Chiu reacted to Congressman Jesus Crispin Remulla disrespecting the National Anthem by taking notes instead of standing at attention.
The Kapamilya actress voiced out her concerns saying that, “Is this another issue na hahayaan na lang ‘ulit” which hints at claims of injustice within the government.
“Nakakaiyak na ang mga nangyayari, sa totoo lang,” she even added.
The said act of Cong. Remulla shows a clear disrespect to the flag and a violation of law as well.
Republic Act No. 8491, known as the “Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines”, states that “reverence and respect shall at all times be accorded the flag, the anthem and other national symbols.”
Remulla apologized for this blunder. “I’d like to apologize for an earlier incident na ako po’y may sinusulat na note nung nag Flag Ceremony po tayo,” he said.
However, he accused ABS-CBN people of making it a big issue. “As usual, the ABS CBN people are the ones playing it up now on social media. But I will forgive them.”
The allegation only underscored the Congressman’s own views of the embattled network as the clip was carried by various media companies and channels and not just ABS-CBN.
