On Saturday, July 4, lead actress of the afternoon series Doble Kara Julia Montes posted pictures on her Instagram account which showed her reuniting with her co-stars through video conferencing platform, Zoom. The Instagram post was captioned ‘night cap’.
Doble Kara was a hit drama series that premiered on ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold afternoon block and worldwide on The Filipino Channel from August 24, 2015 to February 10, 2017. It was directed by Emmanuel Q. Palo, Trina N. Dayrit, and Jojo A. Saguin.
Julia Montes played a dual role, as Kara Dela Rosa and Sara Suarez, along with a cast consisting of Carmina Villarroel, Mylene Dizon, Ariel Rivera, Allen Dizon, Sam Milby, Alicia Alonzo, Maxene Magalona, Edgar Allan Guzman, and John Lapus.
The actress was awarded Best Actress for Television at the 14th Gawad Tanglaw Awards in 2016. After the successful series, she also starred in Asintado which was the last project she made before taking a hiatus.
Just last February the actress made a TV comeback as she starred in a weekly action-drama series 24/7. Unfortunately, ABS-CBN stopped its production in mid-March due to the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Those who participated in the reunion were Jacqui Leus, Rayver Cruz, Sam Milby, Ella Cruz, and Edgar Allan Guzman.
Jacqui was the double of Julia on Doble Kara. She currently appears on AirTV, a comedy entertainment channel together with Andrew Lajada and Kerty Montante, spearheaded by Air Lajada. The YouTube channel as of this writing has over a million subscribers.

Sam Milby, the actor who played the role of Sebastian Acosta, was just recently in the headlines by being Ms. Universe 2018 Catriona Gray’s boyfriend. The actor played Sonny Cruz in The Tapes a show aired on IWantv. Sam is also part of ‘Ang Sayo Ay Akin,’ an upcoming Philippine drama television series to be broadcast by ABS-CBN. The series will premiere on ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold afternoon block and worldwide via The Filipino Channel.

After gaining popularity for being hailed as Mr. Pogi 2006 of Eat Bulaga!, he stayed with the network for two years from 2006 to 2008. He then established his career on TV5 in 2014. He then transferred to ABS-CBN. He was dubbed as “Prince of Philippine Independent Films”, a title previously associated with Coco Martin. He then returned to GMA Network in 2017 for My Korean Jagiya. His recent projects in 2019 included One of the Baes where he played the role of Charles Altamirano and Dragon Lady where he played Goldwyn Chen.
