Julia Barretto confirmed on Monday that she will start shooting for the newest ABS-CBN drama series, Cara Y Cruz, which will go on the air via iWant and Kapamilya Channel.
In an interview with DJ Jhai Ho, Julia revealed, “Salamat sa Diyos, marami po akong makakasama sa teleseryeng ‘Cara Y Cruz.’ Mag-i-start na po kaming mag-taping sa August.
“Sana umere na po para mayroon kayong abangan sa ating Kapamilya Channel. So let’s keep praying for good things lang. Kapit lang, kapit lang tayo,” Barretto added.
Cara Y Cruz was first reported to be in development in February, when RGE Drama, a sub-unit of RSB Scripted Format, shared a photo of a meeting with Julia Barretto, Tony Labrusca, Loisa Andalio, Ronnie Alonte, Marco Gumabao, Barbie Imperial, and Heaven Peralejo.

Cara Y Cruz had been slated for airing on ABS-CBN, until the government shutdown of the network’s TV and radio broadcast.
Julia Barretto rose to prominence after being cast in ABS-CBN’s Kokey, where she played the lead role of Anna Calugdan. She has successfully starred as the protagonist of the 2014 melodrama fantasy series Mirabella. She also starred as a bida-kontrabida (Villain) in And I Love You So.
She did several movies including, Para Sa Hopeless Romantic, Vince and Kath and James, Love You To The Stars and Back, Unexpectedly Yours, I Love You, Hater, Block Z, and her controversial team up with Gerald Anderson for Between Maybes.
Julia was linked to the controversial Bea Alonzo and Gerald Anderson break-up issue, tagging her as the woman behind the split.
She was also bashed by netizens on social media for wanting to drop her Father’s surname for some personal reasons.
