ABS-CBN’s Queen of Philippine Soap Operas Judy Ann Santos shared how she continues to be productive despite the COVID-19 pandemic and ABS-CBN shutdown.

In a recent interview on Rated K, Juday told the host, Korina Sanchez, that she has been adapting to change during this pandemic by studying gardening and learning how to use technological tools.

“Sanay ako, buong buhay ko, pag-aartista ‘yung ginagawa ko. At some point, kinailangan ko i-stretch out kung ano pa ‘yung kapasidad ko, kung ano pa ang puwede ko gawin outside show business. We’re on lockdown, ABS-CBN is totally locked down,” she said.

Since she and her husband, Ryan Agoncillo, had to find other sources of income due to the lockdown, she learned new skills during the quarantine.

“Marami akong na-discover sa sarili ko. Mas na-boost pa ‘yung self-esteem ko, kasi now I know mabubuhay ako, kasi kaya ko pala mag-adapt to change,” she added.

The actress appealed to congress in regards to the renewal of the Kapamilya franchise. She posted on her Instagram that the ABS-CBN network deserves a second chance.

She hoped that the congress will take into consideration the Filipino people whose lives and jobs are at stake if the network shuts down permanently.

She also asked for consideration for the masses who need timely information.

“Para sa mga nangangailangan ng mga impormasyon sa mga malalayong lugar.. para sa ekonomiya natin na patuloy ang pagbagsak dahil sa pandemya.. sana po sa pagkakataong ito.. mapairal natin ang puso at mga isip natin sa kasulukuyang pinagdadaanan natin,” Juday said.

“Pare pareho naman po tayong mga Pilipino.. pareho tayong lahat ng pinagdadaanan.. bakit hindi po tayo magtulungan…??” she added.

Judy Ann Santos has been a Kapamilya for about three decades. She starred as ‘Mara’ in the show Mara Clara in 1992. She recently starred in the ABS-CBN’s teleserye Starla and is currently hosting the Kapamilya Channel’s documentary drama, Paano Kita Mapapasalamatan.
