Jona Viray proves to be a “Fearless Diva” after she fired back at her critics commenting about her network transfer.
She started her singing career at GMA Network after she won the now-defunct singing competition “Pinoy Pop Superstar.” In 2016, she decided to take a fresh path and moved to ABS-CBN.
Her network move, in light of ABS-CBN being shut down, had her bashers sending her some hate comments. Fortunately, Jona was ready to clap back at them stating “They won’t tag me as fearless diva for nothing.”

She told her critics to “just keep following and be updated,” as she stayed hopeful that something positive will result from the criticism.
Sa mga tao pong nagsasabi sakin na "mabuti nga sayo, lipat lipat ka pa kasi, wala ka na trabaho, wala ka ng career",
Wow..that's the kind of spirit Filipinos have? Nagsasaya sa kawalan ng iba?
One thing i'd like to tell these people, just keep following and be updated 🙏🙏🙏

Jona has been tagged by the Kapamilya network as a “Fearless Diva” after she took the “ASAP” stage and was able to perform various songs amazingly, from belting out all the high notes to putting her own rendition to the songs. Since then she has been conquering the stage fearlessly by flaunting her breathtaking talent.
Meanwhile, Jona has been very supportive of her home network and was devastated when its application for a franchise renewal was denied by Congress.
Sakit. Sakit sa puso ng mga nangyayari grabe… 💔😖

But this did not stop her from showing support to the network as she posted a petition to bring back some of ABS-CBN’s television and radio newscast shows on air. She encouraged netizens to sign and be part of “saving the livelihood of thousands” of employees who are in danger of losing their job amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pls sign and show your support if you believe Filipinos deserve wider information coverage and in saving the livelihood of thousands❤🙏

She also stood up against the unjust Congress decision of rejecting the franchise, knowing that many will get affected saying, “Ang tunay na win-win solution ngayong nasa crisis tayo ay kung hindi niyo dineny ang franchise renewal at pilit na pinatay at tinanggalan ng kabuhayan ang mga manggagawa.”

Despite the tragic verdict she otherwise extended her gratitude to all other Kapamilya’s who voiced out their support stating that their “words of comfort and encouragement is deeply appreciated.”

Jona started out in a trio girl-group called La Diva with Maricris Garcia and Aicelle Santos.
In February 2016, she decided to end her stay at GMA Network and start a fresh journey with the ABS-CBN network. Her transfer also prompted to change her screen name from Jonalyn Viray to Jona.
From that time on, she became a mainstay on ASAP, contracted her song albums with Star Music, achieved both Gold and Platinum certifications, held many major concerts, and has sung several theme songs for the ABS-CBN films and drama series.
