Veteran actor John Regala revealed something about his family and his relatives after his photo went viral on social media.
On Grab Driver Carlo Marti Clariza’s Facebook post, Regala asked for help as he felt dizzy while looking for a nurse in Pasay City. Carlo approached barangay workers who could help the actor.
In an interview with DZRH on July 28, he was crying and being grateful to God for having friends in the entertainment industry who extended their help especially when he has no family and relatives whom he can depend on in times of need.
According to the actor, the people he treated like his children seem to have forgotten him.
Hindi man lang nila ako maipagmaneho,” he added
He also shared that when his mother Ruby Regala died in January 2020, his relatives also disowned him.
While he was in tears, he shared that he was under the care of Iglesia ni Cristo but since he doesn’t want to be confined due to his fear of COVID-19 he had to leave. He has been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis.
Regala hopes to recover and will have the opportunity to work as an actor.

“Gusto ko makabalik, yung makapaghanapbuhay. Hindi ako sanay na nanghihingi. Nakakahiya yung manghihingi ka. Sanay akong tumulong noon.
Some of his friends and former colleagues in showbiz who had helped him were the former President Joseph Estrada and Rez Cortez. Senator Bong Revilla Jr. and Vic Sotto also promised to extend their help.
Nadia Montenegro, Chuckie Dreyfus, Aster Amoyo, Dranreb Belleza, and Raffy Tulfo also helped him.
The 55-year-old John Regala’s last TV appearance was on the action-drama series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” in 2016. He also appeared in various TV series such as “Dyesebel,” “Joaquin Bordado,” “Captain Barbell,” and “Encantadia.”
