Kapamilya star Coco Martin supposedly got a rejection from Primetime5 according to former newscaster and talk show host Jay Sonza.
Sonza said that FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano lead star Coco was rejected by TV5 to be a part of their show. However, the Kapatid network accepted Tape and APT artists such as Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Ryan Agoncillo, among others.
“Coco Martin got a NO on primtime5,” he said.
“Kapatid says YES to TAPE/APT artists Jose M, Wally B, Paolo B, Pokwang, Ryan A, Others,” he added.

Sonza’s Facebook post garnered various reactions from netizens. Some people expressed their happiness with TV5’s decision as they believe that Coco Martin is arrogant and has no manners. They applauded TV5 for having great taste in choosing their talents.
Some people are also saying that Sonza is only ranting just about anything and picking a fight with everyone he feels wronged him. Netizens say that Sonza is just expressing his bitterness with the ABS-CBN network that axed from the station some years ago. They say that he is just spreading fake news to the public. Just like how he did with several Kapamilya artists.
Kapamilya star Coco Martin suddenly fell silent over ABS-CBN shutdown after his outburst earlier in May. He furiously slammed both the National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) and Solicitor General Jose Calida after the network went off-air to comply with the issued cease and desist order.
“Hindi man ako kasing talino ng iba, alam ko at malinaw sa akin na mali at kawalang katarungan ang tanggalan ng hanapbuhay ang ilang libong empleyado,” he said.
“Maraming maraming salamat Solicitor General Jose Calida at sa bumubuo ng National Telecommunications Commission sa kontribusyon niyo sa ating bayan! Tinatarantado ninyo ang mga Pilipino!” he added.
Sonza has shared fake claims against his former network through a Facebook post. In the post, he exposed what he claimed is the true history of ABS-CBN.
“Setting the record & history straight. ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation, the epicenter of Lopez Empire was sequestered, mothballed, and confiscated in favor of the Philippine government 1972, because of the following reasons.
“The Lopez’s failed to meet their financial obligations of US$600 million or about PH30 billion pesos (sovereign) guaranteed by the government of the Republic of the Philippines.”
The former broadcaster claimed that Eugenio Lopez Jr. partnered with Sergio Osmena III, the Aquinos and the CPP-NPA to assassinate former President Ferdinand Marcos. In reality, Marcos died in Honolulu in 1989 from cardiac arrest along with a number of illnesses and not an assassination attempt.
He said that the ABS-CBN network was given back to the Lopezes by Pres. Cory Aquino in 1986 without paying a single centavo to the Philippine government who paid $600 million loans to the Development Bank of the Philippines.
Sonza said that the network was not forced to stop its operations due to Martial Law or curtailment of press freedom but due to its debts and alleged team-up with the communists to silence those who helped them to further expand their business.
“ABS CBN was not shutdown because of Martial Law or curtailment of press freedom. Umutang, nanuba at nakipagsabwatan sa mga komunista upang patayin ang tumulong sa kanila para makautang at lumawak ang kanilang negosyo,” he said.
Sonza was criticized by the people who found his claims highly unlikely and full of false information.
He was also criticized by the public including ABS-CBN personalities when he attacked Chairman emeritus Gabby Lopez and his citizenship. On his Twitter post, Sonza mocked the statement of former ABS-CBN chairman regarding his citizenship.
gabby Lopez says he is 100% Filipino and 100% American. That makes him 200% natural born. Pak Ganern. abs na, cbn pa.

“gabby Lopez says he is 100% Filipino and 100% American. That makes him 200% natural born. Pak Ganern. abs na, cbn pa,” he said.
Sonza’s post was bombarded by negative comments from netizens who were outraged by his remark. They say that the former journalist is ridiculous and they lectured him how citizenship works. Some say that he has nothing else to do with his life except for maligning ABS-CBN.
His post even got the attention of journalist Jeff Canoy who ridiculed Sonza and his irrational thinking.
What an irrational number. And I don’t mean the Math. https://t.co/Oj0FdSG3bD

Theater actor Bart Guingona also shared his opinion on Sonza’s statement by saying that, “You cannot be 50% Filipino and 50% American. IT DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY! You can be 100% Filipino by parentage and 100% American by birth. Ambobo naman neto.”

Sonza is known for spreading lies and fake news on social media. He has always been critical of ABS-CBN purportedly after he was axed from the station some years ago.
He was the former station manager of the terrestrial television station UNTV 37 from 2004 to 2009. In 2010, he filed his candidacy for the Vice President. He ran under the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan but lost to Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay of PDP-Laban and later, the United Nationalist Alliance.
