In a series of tweets, political scion Jake Ejercito denounced the governance of the Duterte administration.
Amid the scare of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jake questioned the non-presence of President Rodrigo Duterte because, at a time when the government should have been preparing for the worst, Duterte was downplaying the threat, telling the public there is nothing to worry about the virus.
The country lost a lot of ground in its fight against COVID-19 when the government failed to implement measures at the very start.
Dude, where’s the president?

He even tagged Mocha Uson as ‘garbage’ and other government propagandists as a ‘joke’ after they criticized the good deeds of Mayor Vico Sotto amid the pandemic.
He reiterated that the actions of the Mayor of Pasig exemplified the kind of change that the country desperately needs.
Still true today #MochaUsonIsOverParty https://t.co/b57bl9geub

Chiming in to commend Mayor @VicoSotto. He’s exemplified genuine public service and the kind of change we still desperately need. It’s up to us to hold our other leaders to the same standards.

Jake also opposed the controversial anti-terrorism bill and even signed the petition to junk the bill to uphold human rights.

If we can't march, we're going to their inboxes 📣 Reach out and let these lawmakers know why they need to #JunkTerrorBillNow before congress adjourns. pic.twitter.com/bDtx2lnF73

However, on July 3, the call to junk the bill was disregarded since the President already signed it into law which will take effect 15 days after its publication.
The law seeks to strengthen the Human Security Act of 2007 and criminalizes incitement of terrorism “by means of speeches, proclamations, writings, emblems, banners, or other representations.”
Jake sarcastically reacted, “Guess I’ll finally memorize the steps to Thriller,” referring to the dancing inmates in a photo which he posted along with his tweet.

Also, being the newest member of the Star Magic artists Jake has shown support for the network, especially now that it is battling for franchise renewal.
He slammed government officials who “sickeningly” serve the President instead of public interest. He appealed to the Congress to act on the context of the franchise renewal bills of the ABS-CBN Network and put aside personal interests.
ABS-CBN’s been “in the service of the Filipino” while a number of our officials are sickeningly only in the service of the president. Detach personal vendettas/interests from your public service, good sirs #NoToABSCBNShutDown

The proposed ABS-CBN renewal has been collecting dust in Congress following Duterte’s vocal opposition despite the claim that he is not involved in the deliberations.
Before joining ABS-CBN’s talent management arm, Jake appeared several times as a guest star on GMA Network variety show Eat Bulaga!. His acting career began when he made appearances in movies such as Mansyon (2017), Pamilya (2018), and God Gave Me You (2016).
His talent manager Arnold Vegafria earlier said that Jake will be part of a movie titled Coming Home.
