Celebrities from Aktor group oppose the Anti-Terror Bill, the ABS-CBN shutdown, and the new guidelines on filming issued by the Film and Development Council of the Philippines.

Dingdong Dantes was assigned as the leader of a newly formed organization of actors called Aktor (League of Filipino Actors).

Dantes introduced the group in a Facebook Live session on the Film Workers Unite page last Wednesday, July 1.

Created on May 30, 2020. the Aktor group is a community of actors who aim to give celebs a voice on issues that poses a threat to freedom of expression as content creators.

Celebrities who joined the Aktor group include; Agot Isidro, Andoy Ranay, Angeli Bayani, Angelica Panganiban, Carlo Gonzalez, Cherry Pie Picache, Dingdong Dantes, DMs Boongaling, Gabbi Garcia, Gabby Eigenmann.

These actors were also part of the group: Gabby Padilla, Gio Alvarez, Glaiza de Castro, Iza Calzado, Janine Gutierrez, Jasmine Curtis Smith, Joel Lamangan, Joel Saracho, Joel Torre, Joem Bascon.

Other members of the group include Jojit Loreno, Ketchup Eusebio, Khalil Ramos, Lauren Young, Marlon Rivera, Meryll Soriano, Michael de Mesa, Mikoy Morales, Richard Gutierrez, and Yan Yuzon.

In a statement, the Aktor group aired their opposition to the Anti-Terror Bill, the ABS-CBN shutdown, and the new guidelines on filming issued by the Film and Development Council of the Philippines.

Dantes addressed the current issues in the country.

Tapusin na natin ang ganoong pananaw,” he said.

Celebrities of the Aktor’s group also posted this statement on their individual social media accounts.
