Philippine lawmakers on Friday (July 10) rejected ABS-CBN’s bid for a franchise renewal.
One of those lawmakers who rejected the renewal was Rep. Enrico Pineda, the father of Kapamilya star Enzo Pineda.
Enchong Dee was shocked about the news as he posted about it on his Twitter account.

“Is this serious?” he asked.
Enchong’s confusion was not unlike most people who expected Enzo’s father to show support for his son’s showbiz career by voting against the rejection of the franchise.
Enzo has been vocal about his support to his home network ABS-CBN on his social media platforms. He posted that he stands with his network and with all the people who are also fighting for ABS-CBN with the hashtags “#labankapamilya” and “#istandwithabscbn”.

It has been confirmed that Rep. Enrico Pineda voted “NO” to ABS-CBN franchise renewal and netizens questioned his decision saying that the congressman might not be supportive of the showbiz career of his son Enzo Pineda.
Enchong continues to fight for ABS-CBN and for all those people who are affected by the shutdown especially those 11,000 employees who will be left jobless amid this COVID-19 pandemic.

The Kapamilya artist said that he stands his ground for all the Filipino people who continue to suffer against the injustices of the administration.
Enchong posted about a scene in Disney’s “A Bug’s Life” wherein the characters talked about one ant who stood up to them and that it didn’t do much alone. But if it encouraged other ants to do so, then they could take down their oppressors.
He mentioned in his post that he will be a part of the ‘Simula’ (beginning) of something small but will become something big when all those who support the ABS-CBN will stand together.
Enchong Dee first came to prominence after starring in his first major TV drama Katorse (2009). He starred in the drama television series The Blood Sisters (2018) and in the romantic-comedy film Elise.
