Band Vocalist and It’s Showtime host Teddy Corpuz wasn’t happy with President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address.
On Twitter, Teddy questioned the purpose of the SONA, considering that the President is allegedly delivering ‘off-topic’ press briefings almost every night.

He also slammed the policemen who formed barricades around the Batasang Pambansa Complex to protect the area against protesters.
Teddy criticized Duterte’s way of speaking and called him ‘DTurtle’.

The ABS-CBN show host also acknowledged Duterte for confirming that the ABS-CBN franchise denial was politically motivated.
Ayun deny pa nang deny mga spokes personnel mo and your camp na “neutral” ka sa isyu nang ABSCBN yun pala manggagaling din sa bibig mo. Your SONA just confirmed your true dark intentions. Thanks TheTurle ✌️🤣

“Ayun deny pa nang deny mga spokes personnel mo and your camp na ‘neutral’ ka sa isyu nang ABSCBN yun pala manggagaling din sa bibig mo,” Teddy said.
[Your spokes personnel and camp keeps on saying that you are ‘neutral’ about the ABS-CBN issue, then now it came directly from your mouth]
“Your SONA just confirmed your true dark intentions. Thanks, TheTurtle,” he added.
Teddy also slammed Duterte for saying that he cannot afford to go to war against China for its invasion of the West Philippine Sea.
If you can’t beat them, China, at least stand beside your country and your countrymen. #KamotUlo

If you can’t beat them, China, at least stand beside your country and your countrymen. Then other countries will stand by your side against tyrants who have no respect for maritime law that’s been agreed by all nations. #KamotUlo

He also tracked back Duterte’s promise during the election that he will fight for our territory.
Ang tapang mo sa simula nang eleksyon sa Jetski mong papuntang China. Naniwala naman yung iba “Aba ang tapang nang future president namin ah”. Tapos binoto ka. Four years later (sponge bob narrator voice)… pic.twitter.com/Z8XGLfaLFt

The country is currently facing a very big dilemma with the COVID-19 pandemic that took away many lives, damaged the country financially, and most especially exposed the government’s inefficiency.
Moreover, the closure of ABS-CBN which was politically motivated is also a big problem as around 11,000 employees will be losing their jobs during this troubling time.
