Comedienne Pokwang replied to a fan on Instagram and confirmed she was leaving ABS-CBN.
A netizen, @misspendon commented on an instagram post, “mukat mukat makikita mo si Pokwang nasa kabilang istasyon na.”
Pokie then responded with affirmation; “@misspendon yes totoo naman yan kasi last year pa ako nagpapaalam wala pang pandemic at bearing sa prangkisa, yes matagal sa akong nagpaalam pero di ako pinayagan alam ng mga boss yan! Hindi ba pwede sumuporta muna bago umalis? May mga kaibigan akong maiiwan teh!”
The comedienne revealed that she already asked the heads if she could transfer networks even before the pandemic and issue on the Network’s franchise but she was not given consent.
Pokwang started her TV career on a reality show with ABS-CBN. She became a host on shows like Wowowee, Pilipinas Win na Win, and Happy Yipee Yehey. Her last project with ABS-CBN was Make it With You starring Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano. The show was unfortunately canceled last June 5, 2020, in light of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon and ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal issues.

Last July 1, in an emergency Zoom meeting, ABS-CBN reportedly announced that the network was releasing the contracts of their talents, employees, and other laborers to give them opportunities outside the company.
Following the release of contracts, Kapamilya Star Jessy Mendiola was rumored to sign a contract with TV5. There are speculations that states Mendiola already did a shoot for a cooking show with the said Network which is supposed to air on July 25. Luis Hontiveros, also a former contestant on ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7 is currently under GMA Network’s talent arm Artist Center.
