A number of celebrities and netizens have blasted Malacanang spokesman Harry Roque over his recent remark regarding the country’s fight against COVID-19.
Kapamilya star Vance Larena didn’t mince words with his all caps tweet slamming Roque’s outrageous statement.
“IMAGINE WATCHING THIS ON YOUR DEATH BED. MUKHANG DEMONYO SA GHOST FIGHTER NA FEELING MALAKAS TAPOS PATAY AGAD.”

On Tuesday, June 30, Roque was celebratory as he announced in a Palace press briefing that the country has beaten the UP researchers’ prediction of 40K COVID-19 positive cases at the end of June.
Roque said the country on the last day of June has recorded only 37,514 which is below the UP prediction.
With a raised fist and joyful tone, Roque ecstatically announced that the gov’t beat UP’s number.
“Today is the last day na pala! Ano bang sinasabi ko? Wala na po, panalo na pala tayo! (What was I saying? Disregard that. We already won!) We beat the UP prediction po! We beat it! Congratulations, Philippines!” the presidential spokesperson triumphantly said.
However, Direk Tonette Jadaone and netizen Kat refuted Roque’s claim showing data from the DOH that the country has already surpassed the 40k positive cases since June 27.
Ito talaga and nung isang araw pa ‘to ah. Almost 45k na ang positive individuals as of 27 June. Nung June 23 pa tayo nag 40k positive individuals. pic.twitter.com/s387a651ON

Former IATF advisor Dr. Tony Leachon also scored Roque for stonewalling. Leachon said the problem with the government is that instead of acting on the problems being raised, it brushes it off and put their own spin that does not help in addressing the problem.
The problem with most of us is that we'd rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism.Constructive feedback is good so we can improve on our performance. Stonewalling does not help the people. People won’t make needed sacrifices instead they will cling to the status quo. https://t.co/9R1vH43I7a
