‘It’s Showtime! host and comedian Vice Ganda expressed his sincere gratitude towards congressmen who showed support for the shuttered network, ABS-CBN, in its battle for a new 25-year broadcast franchise.
This, after Deputy Speakers Loren Legarda and Vilma Santos Recto, Laguna 3rd District Representative Sol Aragones, and Parañaque City 2nd District Representative Joy Myra Tambunting defended ABS-CBN as House hearings for its impending franchise renewal bills resumed on June 1.
During the joint committee hearing, the four district representatives recalled the years they have worked with the media conglomerate and attested that it “went over and above” its duty as a broadcasting network.
Iboboto nila kayo ulit porshur!!!”

Meanwhile, the ‘The Mall, The Merrier’ star clapped back at his bashers who don’t appreciate him as an artist and convinced them to just unfollow him on social media and stop being a ‘toxic follower.’.
In a tweet, he said, “Ayoko pong makadagdag sa mga pinagdadaanan nyo. Kung ok ako sa inyo at mga tweets ko pls continue following me. Salamat po. Pero kung ayaw nyo sakin at sa mga tweets ko pls do yourselves a little favor. Please unfollow me. Don’t allow me to annoy you. And don’t be a toxic follower.”

In a separate post, he stated, “Alam ko namang may mabigat na pinagdadaanan ang maraming Pilipino ngayon. Patawarin mo ko kung di ko kayang salusyonan ang lahat ng ito. Ang maiaambag ko lang ay kung anung kaya ko at meron ako. Kaya naisip kong magspread ng positivity dahil baka sa iba ay makatulong ito,” he added and reminded everyone to be thankful of whatever they have no matter how small or simple it is.
“Maraming nangyayaring hindi maganda. Kailangan din natin itong iacknowledge at isaayos. Pero wag na wag mong ipagpapawalang halaga yung magagandang pangyayari sa paligid mo kahit malilit o simple lang. Kailangan balanse. Wag kang huminto sa pagpapasalamat.”

Aside from this, the phenomenal box-office star also hit back at House Deputy Speaker and SAGIP Partylist Rep. Rodante Marcoleta after the latter used the former’s joke for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy during the first House hearing for ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal on Tuesday, May 26.
Marcoleta was one of the critics of ABS-CBN Network who insisted that the media giant should not be granted a new franchise for its alleged tax and labor violations. Marcoleta played the video of the controversial challenge of Vice to Quiboloy to prove his point. On the second hearing, he also invited ABS-CBN chairman emeritus Gabby Lopez III, whose citizenship is being questioned for clarification to attend the next hearing which will happen on Wednesday, June 3.
On Twitter, Vice Ganda took a swipe at the politician by posting, “Hahahahaha!!!! Take the joke seriously. Take the congressman as a joke. Chugug!!!”
