Megastar Sharon Cuneta defends ABS-CBN’s chairman emeritus Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III on questions about his citizenship.
On the social media accounts of Megastar, she affirmed that Lopez has answered the issue about his citizenship several times.
Nakakalungkot.”

Cuneta even jokingly invited them to guest on one of ABS-CBN shows if they just want to get famous.
This wasn’t the first time Cuneta voiced out her support for her home network. She slammed House Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta for insisting on raising issues that were considered redundant during the ABS-CBN Congressional Hearing franchise.
On her Twitter account, she wrote, “Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth”, is a law of propaganda often attributed to the Nazi – ito ang sinusunod na prinsipyo ni Rep. Marcoleta at marami silang ganyan! Kaya paulit-ulit natin itong sagutin ng katotohanan!”

She followed her tweet by encouraging others to counter Marcoleta’s redundant allegations against the media giant,
“ating gobyerno, BIR, DOJ, NTC, DOLE, SEC.
Just today, June 3, ABS-CBN Chairman Emeritus Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III claimed that he was a natural Filipino citizen when he was asked questions about his nationality in the House of Representatives.
“I am a natural-born Filipino citizen because both my parents are Filipino citizens.”
Lopez even stressed that he will die in his homeland and will be very much willing to give up his US citizenship.
“I will live, I will die in the Philippines. Frankly, the issue of being a dual citizen is not something I think about.
“I know in my heart that I am a Filipino, and all my actions in the 35 years I’d been associated with ABS-CBN has been with the service of the Filipino in my mind. If it came down to conflict of interest, I will give up my US citizenship in a minute.”
ABS-CBN General Counsel Mario Bautista stressed the reason that Lopez is a dual citizen is that he was born to Filipino parents in the United States of America.
