Angel Locsin called out Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III for liking a tweet saying she’s a supporter of the New People’s Army (NPA).
On the Twitter account of the actress, she tagged the senator and clarified that she has never supported terrorists in any way, “Hi Sen @sotto_tito , saw that you liked this tweet. I will never support terrorists, nor will I ever support any kind of violence.”
Hi Sen @sotto_tito, saw that you liked this tweet. I will never support terrorists, nor will I ever support any kind of violence. You have the right to like any tweet. And we have the right to voice out our opinions. I hope we don’t get tagged as terrorist for doing so. Thank you pic.twitter.com/xfQNsnCFF5

The actress asserted everyone’s right to voice their own opinions and hoped that no one would be tagged as a terrorist for being vocal,
“You have the right to like any tweet. And we have the right to voice out our opinions. I hope we don’t get tagged as terrorists for doing so. Thank you”
Netizens who are against the Anti-Terrorism Bill agreed with the actress.
This is the main reason why we are against the Anti-Terrorism Bill. We lost our trust to police power because anytime, they might/will tag anyone as terrorist to justify or silence those who they want.

A public apology is in order @sotto_tito. Please also withdraw your vote and authorship of the bill given these circumstances. And to reiterate, think what would your grandfather do who has been a defender of human rights https://t.co/rI82PMo5Kb

Sotto also retweeted tweets that suggest people stop demonizing law enforcers for doing their job,
Angel Locsin has been very vocal about her disapproval of the new anti-terror bill, of which Sotto is the main author in the Senate.
The Anti-Terrorism Act 2020 introduces broad legislation, such as unwarranted searches and wiretapping of alleged terrorists.
On her Instagram account, Angel showed her stand against the bill by joining calls to the “junk” it.
