Sab bares her story in debut single ‘She’

Singer-songwriter SAB is poised to introduce herself and her music through her coming-of-age track “She,” dropping this Friday (July 3).

“Through writing this song, I wanted to establish my voice and my own coming of age story. I wanted to show that even if some of my ideologies are always changing, it’s still me,” SAB explained, who recalled being a “shy type” growing up.

Inspired by her own quest of self-discovery, the 18-year-old artist initially penned “She” as a spoken word piece before it became a song. The final product, produced by ABS-CBN Music’s creative director Jonathan Manalo, is a raw but empowering anthem about embracing the many facets of growing up, while trying to better yourself in the process.

“It’s seeing your younger self and being thankful for being where you are now,” SAB added. “This song is for myself, and now it’s also for anyone who needs to remember that things are always going to be okay no matter what.”

Aside from being a singer-songwriter, the promising talent is also a musician. She has been playing the piano since she was seven years old, and she also learned to play the ukulele and guitar by herself at the age of 15 and 16, respectively. Her music is mostly a mix of indie and pop.

SAB is one of the artists to look out for under Star Music, which houses the best OPM music of today from the country’s leading media and entertainment company, ABS-CBN.
