Kapuso actress Lauren Young has recently been very vocal about her opinions about certain social issues that surfaced online.
Lauren, however, did not only earned admiration but also criticism for speaking her mind.
Recently, in an online conference that GMA Network held for Megan Young and husband Mikael Daez, Megan reacted on the issues involving her younger sister Lauren.
Beauty queen Megan showed her support for Lauren by defending her, saying that she knows her sister well and trusts that she is careful with everything she does.
She said, “Of course, she will talk to me about certain things but I trust na Lauren thinks about the things she does before she does them.”
She also stated that Lauren always had a strong personality ever since she was a kid. “Ever since nu’ng bata pa kami, ganu’n na talaga siya, she’s been very opinionated.”
Megan further added that as her older sister she would continuously guide and support Lauren no matter what and she is confident that the latter can handle her own discretion.
“Of course, as an Ate, I will tell her that there are different ways she could approach things but si Lauren na ang bahala roon. She has her own discretion kung paano niya ita-tackle ‘yun,” she added.
Mikael Daez, Lauren’s brother-in-law, seconded his wife’s statements.
Lauren previously slammed internet sensation and dancer DJ Loonyo after his erroneous explanation on mass testing and face masks went viral.

I feel like in the case of Loonyo he really just wants to sound smart but lacks the patience to sit, read and understand. Gusto lang magkaroon ng opinion for the sake of it? Mapakita lang yung bigdickenergy. Like LOOK AT ME IM SMART.

She also stood against the anti-terror bill by supporting the petition to have the bill junked.
Anyway…. Voice out your opinions! Email your reps! Take a stand! #JUNKTERRORBILLNOW

In the ongoing hearings for the ABS-CBN franchise renewal, she showed her frustration with how Congress seemed to be presenting arguments that were irrelevant and confusing.

She also reacted to the controversial rape culture stand of Frankie Pangilinan against Ben Tulfo, where Ben belittled Frankie’s argument by calling her ‘Hija.’ She even shared her own experience of being harrassed.
Its not about what you’re wearing – its the fact that he was disgusting and wanted to take advantage of me. No I did not give him any signals to do that to me, I was not intoxicated – and even if I was – it doesnt give him the right to do that. #HijaAko

I was at a bar in Boracay, sober, with my friends and a guy kept harrassing everyone there. He kept talking to me and bothering me and just grabbed my boobs out of nowhere. I was fully covered up even at the beach and yet he violated me publicly. #HijaAko https://t.co/loYgJKru41

Stop blaming it on what others wear and EDUCATE others that victims aren’t asking for it if they are dressed “SEXY”.
I’ll wear whatever I want and if its sexy and it turns you on well thats your problem, not mine. Because I dress up for me NOT you. #HijaAko
— Lauren Young (@loyoung) June 14, 2020
And btw if a woman is intoxicated its her fault?
If a man is intoxicated “ayy sorry lasing ako” excuses start to come in. #HijaAko
— Lauren Young (@loyoung) June 14, 2020
Good night! Except to those who make excuses for rapists.
And you know what, I’m not gonna wear a bra in public and you know why? Not because I’m a horny girl asking for it but because my boobs can’t breathe and its uncomfortable, you idiot. #HijaAko
