In a recent Facebook post, Broadway singer and actress Lea Salonga seemed to be frustrated with what has been happening to the country lately.
“Dear Pilipinas, p***** ina, ang hirap mong mahalin,” she wrote.
Lea has been vocal about her views when it comes to social issues, whether it is about the Philippines or other countries.
But in this post, she did not specify what issue had upset her.
However, in her reply to Constitutional Reforms advocate Orion Perez, she was able to relate her “problem”.
One of the problems that she had mentioned was not trusting in what she sees and read even the sources may have the people’s “unquestionable trust“. She also said that she had the “sense of fear that if anyone pisses off the wrong guy, one can get shot in broad daylight.”
I hate this year. I really, really hate this year.

In another reply, Lea said that criticizing the government does not mean it is an expression of hatred. “I would like to think that in a functioning democracy, this should never be anyone’s fear, that their criticism would land them in jail, or worse, a corpse lying on a curb,” she added.
Lea Salonga is also one of the Kapamilya stars who has been affected by the ABS-CBN shutdown last May 5.
