Chinita Princess Kim Chiu is creating abuzz again on social media after video footage of her allegedly dancing to the beat of her viral ‘Bawal Lumabas’ song on EDSA quickly circulated online.
Chadric Ebojo, the uploader of the viral video, claimed that the said footage was taken at Epifanio de Los Santos Avenue, commonly known for its acronym EDSA.
The viral video garnered various reactions from netizens online and even attracted the attention of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago who initially said they would summon the ‘Love Thy Woman’ star to get her side about the issue. Moreover, the agency will conduct an investigation on the video to verify if it is real or a hoax.
“We have so many problems that should be addressed and for the meantime, this is our reaction to the issue concerning actress Miss Kim Chiu. We will verify the truth about the report. We will check if this video of Miss Kim Chiu really happened on EDSA. We will invite her to explain her side then we will act accordingly.” Pialago said.
EDSA is now under general community quarantine, however, staying out of the house without any reason, wandering, and loitering in some places is still prohibited.
On Wednesday, June 3, 2020, the 30-year-old actress decried the allegations that she danced along EDSA.
Through an Instagram post, Chiu called out the uploader who claimed that she danced along EDSA describing the viral post as ‘fake news’ while revealing that the footage shown was actually taken at the parking lot of a restaurant where she delivered her “Bawal Lumabas” merchandise.
“Sa nagpapakalat ng fake news na sa EDSA ako sumayaw, Hello?!!! Okay ka lang??? Bakit ako sasayaw sa gitna ng EDSA. Takot ko lang. Diyos ko. Please stop spreading fake news. Please lang,” she said.
Further, she added, “Sa EDSA daw ‘yung parking lot ng Tipsy Pig? Kaya pa ba? Ikaw na nag-deliver ng merchandise, ikaw pa pagbinintangan ng fake news. Hay… life… Hindi po biro magbenta ng merch, first time kong ginawa to pero okay lang I know this is for a good cause. Let’s spread love not hate. COVID ang kalaban natin. Hindi ang kapwa tao.”
The viral video footage of the actress was initially uploaded by the uploader on Facebook yesterday, June 2 with already over 30 thousand views as of this writing.
