ABS-CBN is still fighting its franchise renewal in the Congress.
Many of its personalities have already shown their support and even some of its former talents who are now with GMA Network have backed up the network as well.
Singer-actress Glaiza de Castro, a Star Magic talent of ABS-CBN back in 2002, recently displayed her frustration on the results of the ongoing congress hearings.

Lauren Young, also a Star Magic artist and who was with ABS-CBN for 6 years, expressed her annoyance with Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta’s arrogant statement.

The House of Representatives on June 8 resumed ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal hearing.
The hearing still focused on ABS-CBN chairman emeritus Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III’s citizenship, though this issue was already previously raised and answered.
Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta even requested Lopez to recite the first line of “Panatang Makabayan” or the country’s patriotic oath to prove his allegiance as a Filipino.
Although the issue was already clarified by ABS-CBN’s general counsel Mario Bautista when he affirmed that Lopez is a dual citizen because he had Filipino parents but was born in the United States of America.
Emmeline Aglipay Villar, Department of Justice Undersecretary, also certified that Lopez seeking recognition of his Filipino citizenship back in 2001 was a confirmatory act of what he already possessed.
The issue being raised again and again disappointed many television personalities.
Actress Ruffa Gutierrez on Twitter shared how the hearing resulted as a waste of airtime.

Host Bianca Gonzalez was also frustrated as legislators’ arguments were irrelevant.
Every minute spent by our legislators in these hearings are precious, sa dami ng bills sa mga desk nila.. ako yung frustrated para sa kanila na 2 full hearings na at ang topic pa rin ay citizenship ni Sir Gabby kahit na klaro na 100% Filipino citizen ang isang dual citizen 😔

Actress Jodi Sta. Maria questioned Marcoleta’s professionalism.
Yung Rep. Marcoleta….🤷🏼♀️🤦🏽 tinanong nyo hayaan nyong sumagot. Kaya nga may hearing. Maging professional naman sana.
