It’s Showtime host and comedian Vice Ganda responded to questions about whether he is a Diehard Duterte supporter (DDS) or a Dilawan.
Many are making assumptions that Vice is a supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte meanwhile others think that he is siding with the opposing party.
In a recent episode of It’s Showtime, the comedian addressed the issue. This happened after Tawag ng Tanghalan contestant Shane dela Vega opened up about receiving criticisms upon joining Idol Philippines.
Vice then empathized with the contestant by relating that he knows how it feels when people doubt and try to bring you down.
“Ang hirap ‘yung maraming tao na pilit kang hinihila pababa, bina-bash ka, ‘yung may mga taong nagbibigay ng pangalan sa ‘yo na parang kilalang-kilala ka nila,” the noontime show host said.
Responding on whether he is a DDS or a Dilawan, Vice Ganda said,“Ganyang-ganyan din ako. Ang daming taong nagde-define sa akin, kung sino ako. Nakakatawa nga. ‘Yung mga sa social media, ‘yung mga ‘dilawan,’ tinatawag nila akong ‘DDS’. Iyong mga ‘DDS,’ tinatawag nila akong ‘dilawan”
Vice said that he just ignores these rumors and as he believes that he is the one who truly knows himself.
“Pero kung meron mang taong nakakakilala sa akin, ako ‘yun,” the Kapamilya star said.
Although he did not openly campaign for anyone during election season, the comedian is known to be a close friend of Kris Aquino, brother of President Benigno Aquino III, and a vocal supporter of then administration bets Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo.
Before the 2016 elections, Vice expressed his support for Duterte and hoped that the former Davao City would run for president.
Duterte also had an appearance on Vice’s ABS-CBN late-night talk show Gandang Gabi Vice in July 2015.
