GMA Network is ready to launch its very own digital TV receiver, the Affordabox.
In a Facebook post, GMA Network teased its viewers with the much-anticipated release of their digibox set to launch on June 26 on Wowowin.
“Abangan ngayong June 26 sa Wowowin! Mas malinaw, mas makulay, mas maganda, at sulit pa! Abangan ‘yan ngayong June 26 sa Wowowin!”
GMA Affordabox is tagged as the Kapuso’s answer to the widely used and popular TV Plus of rival network ABS-CBN.

GMA Network’s plan for a digital transmission device was already laid out as early as 2015. They were supposed to launch the device in 2018, however, due to some issues, the release was delayed.
It was reported in early 2019 that GMA Network invested $20 million to complete the second phase of the company’s efforts to digitize its operations.
“All these state-of-the-art upgrades are part of GMA Network’s ongoing digitization project to bring world-class programming to our viewers here and abroad,” GMA Network chairman and chief executive officer Felipe L. Gozon said.
“We are excited to unveil more innovative offerings that will not only maintain our position as the country’s leading broadcast network but will also revolutionize the TV viewing experience in the Philippines,” he added.
Meanwhile, the official price of the device hasn’t been released yet but it is said to be under 1000php.
