Despite the shutdown, ABS-CBN remains committed to serving its audiences as it brings back its television programs on its newest channel, Kapamilya Channel.
Kapamilya Channel is set to air on June 13 and will be available on SKY, Cablelink, G Sat, TFC, and most member-cable operators of the Philippine Cable Television Association (PCTA) nationwide.
While its availability is only by cable and satellite TV, ABS-CBN is finding ways to reach out to more Filipino viewers. And currently, they are under negotiations with Cignal TV.
The returning television series includes ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ starting from its ten-episode recap; on primetime is ‘A Soldier’s Heart,’ and the family drama ‘Love Thy Woman‘ during the daytime.
The live shows ‘It’s Showtime’ and ‘ASAP Natin To’ are also coming back.
The morning talk show ‘Maganda Buhay’ will continue its life discussions. And on weekends is the singing journey of ‘The Voice Teens.
TV Patrol will as well continue to deliver the latest news to the public.
Aside from the returning programs, the Kapamilya channel will be featuring new shows: Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan’ with Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and ‘Iba Yan’ with Angel Locsin. Both public service programs will cater to the life stories of real people.
The Kapamilya Channel is not covered by the cease and desist order issued by the NTC since it is under a different company. The hearing on ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal is already on its third hearing and the House of Representatives said it will continue hearings on the renewal application even during its break.
Meanwhile, the longest-running variety show ‘Eat Bulaga’ restarted its live studio telecast on June 8.
It was on March 9 at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic that ‘Eat Bulaga’ took an early suspension of its audience admission. As a result, the show modified its segments online but later fully halted its operations of barangay segments in compliance to quarantine measures.
On March 14, the show was suspended due to stricter measures against the pandemic. Therefore, replays of its old episodes were instead telecast that lasted for almost three months.
With government easing the quarantine measure, the show is back in the studio. However, it will still remain closed to the public.
This was first announced by ‘Eat Bulaga’ on Facebook live, where the hosts shared a short message of its comeback.
“Stay at home at i-on ang TV bukas ng tanghali at sama-sama tayong mag-Eat Bulaga!”
