It all starts with something small, a dream, a memory, or an experience that becomes a part of who we are. Many entrepreneurs start out by building on an idea, an insight that eventually translates into something more meaningful.
This holds true for Sarah Lahbati-Gutierrez and Ange de la Cruz.
Sarah knew from a very young age that her mom’s Swiss Lasagna was really something special. According to her “From the smell of the baked Gruyère cheese to the first bite of its soft and crispy edges, Mom’s lasagna truly is a special meal.” This paired with her mom’s passion to cook for other people, Crave Simply was born with the help and support of the entire family and is now steadily growing with, of course, a few expected hiccups along the way. “We are receiving an insane amount of orders and we’re doing our best to organize everything and cater to everyone… The beauty of these challenges is growth and learning, as well as going through this with my family. We love learning from our errors and correcting them until they’re perfect.” Starting out with only two products, the Swiss Lasagna and the OG Biko, Crave Simply’s goal is to share with everyone that even the simplest of recipes, when done right, can bring out good memories shared with loved ones.
In Ange’s case, she started baking at the age of 4. Ange was very passionate about perfecting this skill by experimenting in the kitchen, going through cookbook after cookbook to achieve the perfect recipe and at just 16 years old, The Sweet Life By Ange was created to satisfy even the most discriminating palates for quality desserts. “Baking has always been my art and where I can best express myself creatively. I am very fortunate to have parents who support me all the way and I’m so very grateful for a client base that fully understands and appreciates how highly we value good ingredients, as well as the attention to detail that goes into each product.” Experiencing some challenges herself, Ange has set very high standards for her business and goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. “We just committed ourselves to work harder at communicating with customers and putting strict measures in place to ensure proper care and transport of our products. We’d rather take all these extra steps than lower the standard and quality of our creations.”
It’s stories like these that help Fotto see beyond the surface and understand brands. Which is why it was such a delight to work with Sarah and Ange for their respective food-businesses to capture the best possible images for their products. Fotto is one of the fastest-growing business photography and videography services in the Philippines. Led by the same duo behind global photography service SweetEscape, David Soong, and Emile Etienne.
“Our goal is to help our fellow entrepreneurs get the attention they deserve. We want to help their business grow by providing them an affordable photography and videography option,” says Emile Etienne, Fotto COO and Co-Founder. “We want to give them the best possible resource for their visual content needs, especially now during the health pandemic that has affected business all around the world. This crisis has pushed for faster adoption of offline businesses going online and we want to be able to help them keep going.” added David Soong, Fotto CEO and Founder.
As a brand, Fotto thrives on the satisfaction of our clients and we feel even more driven when receiving positive feedback from them. “I’m really happy with how Fotto captured the photos for our products at Crave Simply. I’d love to work with them again to feature our other dishes on the menu.” says Sarah Labhati-Gutierrez. “I think Fotto is a revolutionary service that is a godsend to all businesses… What I liked most is that the Fotto team takes such great care to ensure that your brand aesthetic and standards are upheld, down to every last detail.” Added Ange de la Cruz.
