It’s unfortunate for the LizQuen fans that their idols’ teleserye which was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic will no longer return.
Liza’s manager Ogie Diaz confirmed the news via his Facebook post.
“Sa mga nagtatanong kumbakit hindi nakasama ang “Make It With You” sa magbabalik sa telebisyon ngayong June. .. Ikinalulungkot ko pong ibalita sa inyo bilang manager ng isa sa bida (si Liza Soberano) na hindi na po ito mapapanood pa,” he said.
Diaz also confirmed that all of the cast including LizQuen were already informed that the teleserye will no longer come back, however a new teleserye starring the real-life couple will be coming soon.
“Alam na po ito ng lahat ng cast, lalo na ng LizQuen. Alam kong nabitin kayo sa love story nina Billie at Gabo, kaya hintayin na lamang po ang pagbabalik ng love team sa isa pang bagong teleserye.
Salamat po, mga Kapamilya!” he wrote.
Meanwhile, in a TV Patrol report Wednesday, June 10, Liza also confirmed the news that part of the reason for the decision to cancel the series was her health.
According to Liza, she has a weak immune system and with the pandemic still ongoing, she doesn’t want to risk her health going back to tapings and exposing herself to the virus.
She also added that the ongoing pandemic and ABS-CBN shutdown have given her anxiety adding to the reasons why she opted to discontinue the series.
Earlier this week, when ABS-CBN announced its return to broadcast on cable and satellite television by June 13, it did not mention Make It With You in the list of returning TV shows.
Aside from Make It With You, other Kapamilya shows that were also canceled include Banana Sundae, Home Sweetie Home, and Pamilya Ko.
Apart from Kapamilya teleseryes, GMA Network’s upcoming teleserye starring Marian Rivera and Gabby Concepcion is said to be cancelled as well.
In a report by Rose Garcia of Abante, she said that Marian’s supposed comeback Kapuso series First Yaya will no longer push through.
The series had already started their principal photography but was halted due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Given that Marian is now taking care of their two kids with the youngest just turning one last April, it will be hard for her to do the lockdown tapings thus opting to just discontinue the series instead.
First Yaya was being compared to ABS-CBN’s former hit teleserye Be Careful with My Heart.
