(New York, NY – June 12, 2020) – Today, Indian singer-songwriter Armaan Malik releases a new track, “next 2 me” via Arista Records. Listen HERE. Watch the lyric video HERE.
“next 2 me” describes the feeling of missing your loved ones and wishing they were right there by your side in a light-hearted and hopeful manner with an up-tempo production.
Talking about the song, Armaan stated, “The global lockdown has been tough on all of us, especially for those who are quarantined away from their loved ones. I wanted to capture that feeling of missing someone and wishing that they were next to you. We may have all the devices in the world to keep us connected, but having that person next to you is a different feeling altogether, something that no digital connection can ever compare to.”
Armaan teased this single during his Billboard Live At-Home performance for a COVID-19 fundraiser. “I believe ‘next 2 me’ is a song that listeners will definitely relate to and make their own, and even dedicate it to their loved ones,” added Armaan.
“next 2 me” follows the release of Armaan’s first English-language track, “Control” that has been streamed more than 35 Million times across platforms to date.
With a musical resume a mile long, the 24-year-old has cemented his position in the South Asian music industry, and now, Armaan sets out to be the first Indian artist to break into the global pop market.
“I’ve always wanted to take India to the world and this has been my lifelong dream. There hasn’t been a precedent before and I wanna be the first from my country to become a global musician in the truest sense,” said Armaan Malik.
