Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin shed tears while expressing her wish of an ABS-CBN franchise renewal.
It was on May 5 that ABS-CBN went off the air following the cease-and-desist order of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
But despite the shutdown, the network has come back in part through the Kapamilya Channel.
Angel, who is a known philanthropist, is hosting for the first time in Iba Yan, a public service program that focuses on inspiring life stories of real people.
On June 13, her newest television show had its virtual press conference. During the interview, DZMM Teleradyo anchor Ahwel Paz raised the question: “If given the chance, what would she like to wish for” knowing that she had helped a lot of people amid the pandemic.
Locsin unexpectedly became emotional and suddenly broke down in tears as she shared that her only wish was for her home network ABS-CBN be granted the franchise renewal that they have been battling for.
Surprised by the question she shortly excused herself before turning her video off.
“Di ko ‘to ineexpect ha, teka lang, sandali. Mag-ooff lang ako ng video saglit.”
She later regained her composure and apologized for the tears. And further enjoined everyone to continuously support the network in its battle as they carry on with serving the public.
“And, mahirap lang po talaga ang sitwasyon ngayon but we’re fighting.

She clarified that she is not against the Duterte administration but rather all she wanted was the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise.
