Kapamilya actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin said that she is still plagued by allegations that the money used in her charity work are from her “DOM” (dirty old man) benefactor.
The actress narrated that she once heard this rumor aired on the radio.
However, she refused to disclose details about this happening to prevent others from knowing who spread the rumor.
“Isa sa mga trahedya, tapos pauwi ako nun. Kakatapos ko lang magbuhat ng bigas simula second floor pababa ng ground floor, at ilo-load ko sa truck. Tapos may narinig ako. Sakto napakinggan ko sa radyo. Na yung perang ginamit ko daw is galing sa DOM ko. And alam na alam daw niya kung kanino nanggaling,” she shared.
She admitted that this allegation hurt her especially now that she is engaged to movie producer Neil Arce.
Though this rumor still haunts her memory, Angel knows that she must not dwell on it.
She said, “Pero kung magdu-dwell ako, bakit may naitulong ba siya? May nagagawa ba siya para sa mga taong nangangailangan?”
Contrary to some circulating rumors, Angel said she has no hidden agenda in helping others such as plans of entering politics.
As the country fights against the spread of Coronavirus, Angel has been constantly active in giving aid to others especially health workers using her various fundraising activities.
Her fundraising campaign called #UniTENTweStandPH provided additional space for patients in various hospitals and earned praises after it generated over 11 million pesos. Aside from this, she is also seen helping Filipinos affected by different natural calamities in several regions of the country.
Famed for her charity work, she was included in Forbes Asia’s Most Generous Charity Donors in 2019.
