Kapamilya star and vlogger Alex Gonzaga showed her appreciation for a netizen who called her out on social media for her ‘poor’ character development and alleged misuse of popularity and influence as an artist.
On Sunday, May 30, the 32-year-old host-vlogger posted on her Twitter a message which seemed to be advice for her haters who don’t like her and her online activities, but still insist on watching her.
She wrote, “Kung claim mo na ayaw mo dun sa tao I suggest that u stop watching their every move and then stop overreacting about it? ‘Coz that’s not even healthy. Ang sad. Protect your mental health.”

Many of her followers and fans agreed with the talented host and expressed their support for her. However, a certain Twitter user seemed to be affected by what Alex tweeted.
The affected netizen retweeted the YouTube sensation’s post and responded, “Alam mo, mas okay kung nagtweet ka na lang about sa mga hindi pa rin nakakatanggap ng ayuda or mga biktima ng abuse this quarantine. ang laki ng platform mo teh pero walang kwenta.” The netizen even suggested for Alex to just deactivate her social media accounts for her ‘poor character development.’
“kung puro ka ganyan magdeactivate ka na lang. walang character development amputa.”

Alex defended herself and said that she and her family are trying to help the people affected by the ongoing quarantine caused by the COVID-19.
“One example: YES marami pa di nabibigyan ayuda kaya sa makakaya ng pamilya namin pinipilit namin tuloy tuloy na tumulong. In our business we are trying our best and finding ways not to lay off people kahit matagal walang sales.”
Additionally, she said, “Character development is not cursing someone on twitter.”

In a separate tweet, she continued: “You’re not even following me, and yet you’re tweeting me? See. Nabwisit ka pa tuloy ng taong bwisit ka na to begin with dahil ‘feeling’ mo di kayo pareho ng pinaglalaban. Out of sight, out of mind.”
Further, the Mary, Marry Me star despite being criticized, expressed her appreciation to her basher by saying, “Itweet mo nalang yung pinaglalaban mo kaysa mang-away ka. I still appreciate [you].”

A netizen also commented, “The name Alex Gonzaga is synonymous with being Bobo, Moron, Stupid and Insensitive. I seriously pity the fiance. Sana matauhan. The guy deserves much better.”
Back in 2018, Alex received ‘flak’ from netizens for her highly insensitive ‘drug’ joke while she was doing her ‘Cubao Expo vlog.’ In the said clip, the prominent artist picked on a group of men gathered in a corner and jokingly told them to undergo a drug test. A certain Twitter user called out the vlogger as he found her video alarming now that “the government is out there killing people tagged as drug users.”
Many hope that Alex learns to consider the feelings of others and be tactful and careful of whatever she says to avoid hurting other people since she has a large fanbase.
In an interview in 2018 when she was asked about her ‘insensitive vlogs,’ the social media star stated, “Since then, mahilig na ako magpatawa so mayroon na akong sariling humor na not everyone can understand.”
While she enjoys making people laugh, the Nakalimutan Ko Nang Kalimutan Ka star admitted that there were times when she took her jokes too far without intent.
She mused, “Siguro may times talaga na I’m becoming insensitive because I always see the brighter side of everything. Instead of problematizing things, I just try to make it lighter. But siyempre, not everyone is like that.”
Further, she stated, “If everyone will always praise you, validate you, and approve your actions, you won’t be better. Yayabang ka and iisipin mo na you’re perfect na.
“So maganda yung may pumupuna sa’yo para mayroon kang room to change and room to improve. For me, it’s totally fine.”
