ACT-CIS Partylist Rep. Nina Taduran has labeled the Black Lives Matter protesters in the US as “terrorists.”
In her sponsorship speech for the anti-terror bill at the House of Representative, Taduran said all those that are currently happening in the US are part of a terrorist attack.
“I surmised that at this time, terrorists have launched to strike in the US, katulad na lamang po ng nangyayari ngayon sa Estados Unidos,” she said.

The Anti-terror bill has been meet with huge opposition from netizens, progressive groups, and even popular celebrities.
While the bill aims to address the country’s problem on terrorism, critics saw the vagueness of some provisions that can be abused and misused by the authorities who wanted to silence dissent and criticism.
A good example was the now-deleted tweet of OWWA official Mocha Uson where she tagged protesters as terrorists.
Mocha Uson called the protesters “mga terorista.” This further proves that anyone can be labeled a terrorist. Literally anyone!
And this also answers Sen. Sotto’s question. Yes po, senator, si Mocha Uson po ang gagong nagsabing terrorism ang activism. pic.twitter.com/017MtuMi6o

Mocha’s tweet validated netizens’ fear about the possibility of government using the law to silence dissent and criticism.
Meanwhile, calls to #JunkTerrorBill has made former “apolitical” celebrities to finally speak up.
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzback who’s not very open with sharing her socio-political stand has finally broken her silence and spoke up against the anti-terror bill.
I'll be honest, I never really liked commenting about politics simply cos I felt like I didnt know enough. I wasnt confident enough to speak up… I also was never really a fan of tweeting (Im barely online here) but I realized that I need my voice back…and I need to use it.

Sa lahat ng nangyayari ngayon sa Pilipinas at sa mundo.. overwhelming. Diba? Parang di mo alam kung maiiyak ka o magagalit. Parang pakiramdam mo minsan powerless ka. Parang sasabog yung puso mo. Yung feeling na parang may gusto kang sabihin. May kailangan kang sabihin.

Pero narealize ko na hindi ako powerless… kasi hindi ako nagiisa. #JunkTerrorBill #MassTestingNowPH #ActivismIsNotTerrorism
