- Christine Lim initiated charity works in her hometown in Tarlac
- She will have her next acting job in the TV series “My Extra Ordinary”
Eighteen-year-old Christine Lim has launched a series of charity works to help the citizens and frontliners of her quarantined hometown Capas, Tarlac amid the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
On April 8, 2020, the young AsterisK talent first initiated the “Lingap-BAYANi Project”, a fundraising activity.
Under the said project, Christine extended her charity efforts for Ospital Ning Capas by supplying its workers with one hospital tent with 20 beds, mats, aircon/ electric fans, and pillows. This activity called “TENTative Home” aims to fill in the lack of temporary shelters for medical workers.
Her project is seen to help provide an adequate amount of personal protection equipment (PPEs) including isolation gowns, N95 and surgical masks, alcohol, shoe covers, Hazmat suits, safety goggles, and surgical gloves to aid medical frontliners.
She was also able to provide UV Cabinets that can disinfect protective personal equipment using ultraviolet rays.
Christine shared how she admired her father Reynaldo Catacutan who is serving as the town’s mayor. Thus, she became inspired to help others, specially frontliners.
“It’s a small project close to my heart because my father himself is a frontliner. He serves Capas and stays away from home to ensure our safety so I personally know the hardships of other frontliners. More so, medical frontliners.”
Christine emphasized, “This initiative is being pushed through to protect our first line of defense.”
The teen star also showed her soft spot for the children by giving out milk products.Selected households were given two milk boxes which contained 30 milk packs each.
Through “Lingap Batang Capaseños (Ayudang Gatas),” funds amounting to PHP 600, 000 were collected and spent to gather 7,500 boxes of powdered milk for children from ages 1 to 3 who have been quarantined in their town.
Christine started off her gift-giving last April 13 with her earned savings of PHP 200,000 and donations from family and friends.
Her good deeds caused others to pour out additional donations to her hometown such as food packs, Vitamin C bottles, maternity kits, sanitary napkins, Ethyl Alcohol 70% Solution, face masks, and latex examination gloves.
Christine will soon be starring in a TV series titled “My Extra Ordinary” alongside Enzo Santiago, Darwin Yu, Kamille Filoteo, Karissa Toliongco, EJ Coronel, and Sam Cafranca.
The series produced by AsterisK Digital Entertainment, “My Extra Ordinary” will be shown on TV5, Colours & YouTube.
