Megastar Sharon Cuneta clarified that as Kapamilya personality they are not going against President Rodrigo Duterte.
On her Facebook Page, Sharon clarified to her supporters that they’re not going against the President.
“Mga kaibigan at Kapamilya, Gusto lang po namin linawin na we at ABS-CBN are not fighting the President.”
She also clarified that ABS-CBN’s protest against the National Telecommunication Commission is a fight hoping to withdraw the Cease and Desist order.
“We are fighting to withdraw the Cease and Desist order issued by the NTC. Galing din po sa Boss namin yan. Para lang po malinaw. Salamat po.”

On May 5, 2020, NTC gave an order to ABS-CBN to terminate its broadcasting activities, including its radio stations DZMM, its television equivalent DZMM TeleRadyo and MOR, following the expiry of its broadcast franchise on the previous day.

This included 42 television stations owned by ABS-CBN including the ABS-CBN Network, ABS-CBN Sports and Action, 10 digital broadcast networks, 18 FM stations, and five AM stations.
This move was made in spite of Department of Justice Sec. Menardo Guevarra claiming that the NTC can grant provisional authority and President Rodrigo Duterte accepting ABS-CBN CEO Carlo Katigbak’s apology.
Some netizens didn’t side with Sharon, saying that some Kapamilya artists talk nonsense.

The Megastar recently successfully raised more than 2 million pesos in a live stream concert on Mother’s Day for ABS-CBN’s Pantawid ng Pag-ibig program.
On her Instagram account, Sharon proudly shared that her virtual fundraising concert titled “Love and Music: Sharon A Mother’s Day Special was able to raise P2,000,977.38 in total donations.
