After the sudden ABS-CBN shutdown, the House Committee approved the Bill granting a provisional franchise to ABS-CBN.
In an interview with ABS CBN News Channel, Senator Grace Poe, Senate Committee on Public Services chair, is certain that a lot of people were satisfied by the House’s intervention on the ABS-CBN franchise and she’s deeply happy for the employees of the ABS CBN.
“I’m sure a lot are relieved, and I am happy for the employees of ABS-CBN.”

She also admitted that there’s a gap that needs to be addressed, especially on ABS CBN’s case,
“There’s really a gap in the law that needs to be addressed– that’s when a company has already filed for an extension of the franchise but Congress was not able to deliberate on time.”
Adding, Senator Grace Poe reassures that they will also gather information from other media companies.
Despite making a promise to Congress to allow the media giant to function continuously and now, jeopardizing the job security of the 11,000 workers of the network, Poe stressed that it was natural to be alarmed in this circumstance.
“This is not strictly about freedom of the press, but certainly, some are alarmed by it and rightly so, If you are in a company and somebody is fired without due process, other employees will be alarmed as well.”
But netizens didn’t forget Senator’s Grace Poe ‘no comment’ on ABS-CBN’s resolution to reverse cease and desist order.
Her comment came after Cayetano called the “flip-flopping” of the NTC, which initially made a promise to give the provisional authority to ABS-CBN but ended up issuing a cessation order,
“The Filipino people want to see the network back on air. To see is to believe.”
Grace Poe No Comment?!?!? Her dad must be turning in his grave! Shame… as expected 😂
