Ormoc City Mayor and actor Richard Gomez has gone viral over his reaction to ABS-CBN’s shutdown.
In an interview with PCOO Usec. Rocky Ignacio, Gomez was asked about his reaction to the closure of his former home network ABS-CBN.
Surprisingly, Ignacio was caught off guard with Goma’s answer. “Naku baka mas maganda yata na kayo sasagot nyan dahil kayo ang nasa gobyerno na nagpahinto sa pag-broadcast ng ABS-CBN.”

ABS-CBN on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 was closed down due to National Telecommunications Commission’s cease and desist order. ABS-CBN immediately complied with the order shutting down their broadcast after airing TV Patrol.
Meanwhile, Gomez’s reaction has since gone viral on social media with netizens sharing their different reactions.

Richard Gomez started his television career with ABS-CBN in 1987 via Palibhasa Lalake. He stayed Kapamilya for 14 years before his transfer to GMA network in 2002.
He made a comeback in 2012 via the teleserye Walang Hanggan with Dawn Zulueta and stayed for two years until 2014 when he transferred to TV5.
And in 2015 he again went back to ABS-CBN to do You’re My Home again with Dawn Zulueta which was his last teleserye before running for Mayor of Ormoc in 2016.
